Jackson Theatre Guild For nearly 50 years, the Jackson Theatre Guild has been West Tennessee's source for quality performing arts. But we are more than just a group of artists.

Jackson Theatre Guild is a nonprofit community theatre dedicated to creating inspiring performances and providing opportunities for local artists and performers to grow and thrive. Our shows are affordable, professional, and - most importantly - fun! Chartered in 1964 as a 501(c)3 organization, the JTG was founded by a handful of theatre teachers, professors, and other performance enthusiasts who answered an overwhelming public call for a local theatre group. Even though Jackson has always had a rich arts offering thanks in part to its local universities, the general public desired something more uplifting and entertaining than the sometimes more experimental productions of the college sector. Needless to say, the JTG answered the call and has been going strong ever since! Today, the Guild's volunteers quite literally represent every aspect of our talented community: students, business owners, factory workers; over 50, under 30, and everything in between; black, white, Hispanic. These are your everyday friends and neighbors, yet they give the same high-caliber performance that you would expect to see in a professional theatre company. We are a close-knit family, and we would love for you to be a part of it by coming to an audition, working backstage, joining our audience, or by becoming a member! A special camaraderie exists between our actors, the crew, and most importantly, the audience. We are excellence-driven, and we go to great lengths to make sure that the entire playgoing experience is something you'll never forget. You are the reason we're here!

The magic of Christmas is coming back to the stage, and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce the cast of this year's A Christmas Carol!

We are thrilled to continue building what we hope will become one of Jackson’s most beloved annual holiday traditions, bringing our community together each Christmas season to experience the timeless story of Ebenezer Scrooge and its enduring message of generosity, compassion, and the joy of giving.

We hope you will join us in congratulating these talented performers in the comments, and tag a friend you want to share a little Christmas magic with at the show this holiday season!

We are so proud to announce our SHREK JR. cast for the 2027 Junior Theater Festival!

These 31 young performers will represent Guild Jr. and Jackson in Atlanta this January! Along with our directors, chaperones, and family members, our group of 63 will join an international celebration of youth musical theatre expected to welcome more than 7,000 participants from 144 theatre groups.

Our performers will share a 15-minute presentation of SHREK JR., receive feedback from theatre professionals, participate in workshops led by Broadway artists and master teachers, and connect with young performers from around the world. Supported by Disney Theatrical Group and other industry partners, JTF is an incredible opportunity to grow as artists, strengthen our ensemble, and come home with new skills, new friendships, and unforgettable memories!

See a name you know and love? You can help support their journey! Visit the link below and scroll to “Fundraisers.” Search for your performer’s name or select “View all fundraisers,” then open their individual fundraising page to make your donation. Gifts made through their page help cover that participant’s trip costs.

You can also give to our general fund through the same link! Your gift supports the behind-the-scenes work that makes this journey possible and helps us build a lasting tradition of bringing Jackson’s young performers to JTF, year after year.

We can’t wait to watch this group grow together and represent Jackson in Atlanta. Leave a congratulations in the comments, give your favorite performer a shout-out, and help us send this cast off knowing their community is behind them!
