Brothers,
Please see the attached picture of the new fundraiser Lodge Flap designed to raise money to save the OA Lodge Building at CMM. The building is in sad condition. The foundation is in shambles, the flooring is deteriorated, the deck is rotting. We MUST fix it or lose it. The Council is not in a position to step up and make the necessary repairs. It is up to us as Lodge Members if we want to salvage our Lodge building.
The fundraiser flap is not cheap. They are $250.00 each. That initially hit me like a punch to the gut. However, it's like selling popcorn, you're not buying popcorn, you are supporting Scouting. Here, you are not merely buying a flap ... you are stepping up to save something that is important to our Lodge.
The youth of our Lodge voted to begin selling the flaps at Fall Fellowship and sell them through Winter Banquet. That is a tight time frame, but it also creates a sense of urgency. If you want a flap, you better do it now. There are only 100 of these flaps for sale. At Winter Banquet, we shall burn the flaps not sold. That was the decision of the Lodge Officers, so you don't have to worry about paying $250.00 now and in 5 years they are $5.00.
If you did not get your flap at Fall Fellowship, you need to make your move. Yes, this is a lot of money, but this is a great Christmas gift idea. Men, your wife never knows what you want, now she can know. Youth members, this is a great Santa wish list item. I know that I am shamelessly begging for your money. The Lodge needs it. And you may ask,"Have you stepped up and paid your money?" Yes. How could I ask you and not commit myself?
