Today is World Cerebral Palsy Day, a time to celebrate the abilities, individuality, and potential of people living with cerebral palsy around the world.

Absalat is a bright 9-year-old from Ethiopia. Born with cerebral palsy, Absalat has difficulty walking, speaking, and sitting upright on her own. For years, she moved by scooting across the floor, while her devoted mother carried her to school and cared for her throughout each day.

Then, Absalat received a wheelchair through our local distribution partner, Agape Mobility Ethiopia. With the support she needs, she can now sit upright safely, move more comfortably, and attend school more consistently. Her wheelchair has opened new possibilities for Absalat while easing the physical strain on her mother.

What is a Mobilizer?

Mobilizers are a dedicated group of supporters who contribute monthly to bring wheelchairs to those in need!

They do it through Mobilize, our automated giving option. And because of their consistent support, we are able to lower the administrative costs associated with distributing our wheelchairs, providing funds we can count on.

Thanks to their generosity, our local partner, FUSAL, received a container full of new wheelchairs!

Right before Orange County's Miracle of Mobility, we visited our Presenting Sponsor, CapRock Partners, at their office.

Through many interviews with executive leadership and various members of their staff, we were encouraged and inspired by their dedication to supporting our work and those we serve.
