Alzheimer's Orange County has been busy connecting with the community this month. We joined the OC Aging Services Collaborative at US Representative Lou Correa's forum on successful aging in Anaheim. Thank you, Congressman Correa, for your ongoing efforts to optimize quality of life for people in retirement.
Over the weekend more than 200 people gathered for the 6beds.org RCFE Conference, where important information was shared alongside excellent networking with so many great service providers. We are were grateful for the invitation to participate.
This month we also had about 200 people joined us at Mount of Olives Adult Day Program/Mount of Olives Lutheran Church in Mission Viejo for Dr. Trinh's Risk Reduction Program. It was a fabulous day with so many interested attendees. We were especially grateful to the exceptional senior service providers who supported this event: O'Connor Mortuary, OC Caregiver Resource Center, Senior Helpers, Ivy Mission Viejo, Sunrise Mission Viejo, Belmont Village Aliso Viejo, 4Ever Young Living/Reema Khetarpal, Comfort Keepers, A Plan for Senior Care, and Martha Patterson, Elder Law Attorney.
We also held an adapted religious service for people with dementia in collaboration with Mission Lutheran Church in Laguna Niguel. Judie Zoerhof served as our officiant, and the messages, music, and fellowship were perfect for our guests. Many thanks to The Groves of Tustin, Ivy Park at the Wellington, Carmel Village, and Atria del Sol for joining us for this inspirational morning, followed by a delicious lunch hosted by O'Connor Mortuary.
Staying active in our community is how we start important conversations, share information about services, and help more people find the programs that make a difference in their lives.
