We're proud to partner with Simbelle Productions for a special screening of Sarah Friedland's award-winning film Familiar Touch, followed by a fireside chat about Alzheimer's disease and the power of seeing these stories on screen.

Starring Kathleen Chalfant, Familiar Touch follows a woman in her 80s as she moves into assisted living and navigates her relationship with herself and her care partners as her memory shifts. The film premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, winning the Lion of the Future Award for best debut feature, and Friedland took home Best Director in the Orizzonti section. 🏆

From live entertainment and dancing to fun indoor and outdoor activities, our participants and staff filled every day with laughter, music, and connection. 💙

Adult day services give people living with memory loss and others requiring daytime assistance, a safe, engaging place to thrive, and give care partners peace of mind.

What a few weeks it's been! Alzheimer's Orange County has been out across the county, connecting with neighbors, partners, and care partners.

We joined residents and friends at the beautiful, newly renovated memory care neighborhood at Heritage Pointe, Senior Living in the Jewish tradition, for a modified High Holy Days service led by Cantor Fran Chalin of VITAS Hospice. We sang, prayed, clapped, and shared a delicious repast together.

🇺🇸 At the Laguna Niguel Interfaith Council's "Breakfast of Compassion," we celebrated America's 250th birthday with the theme "One Nation, Many Faiths," supporting Family Assistance Ministries and South County Outreach. Special thanks to the St. Timothy Knights of Columbus for helping with everything!

🧠 More than 350 people gathered in Irvine for the 37th Annual Southern California Alzheimer's Disease Research Conference, organized by UCI MIND, Alzheimer's Orange County, and the Alzheimer's Association.

🩺 We also shared information about our programs and services at the Kaiser Family Practice conference.
