Did you know every $50 donated to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation funds an hour of research?🎗️

These hours power breakthroughs like the research of Dr. Mancuso, PhD, focused on pediatric acute megakaryoblastic leukemia (AMKL) — a subtype of leukemia in which megakaryocytes, the cells responsible for blood clotting, become cancerous. Her work is helping advance more effective treatments and improve outcomes for children impacted by pediatric cancer. 💛

Sarah was seven years old when she was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and aggressive brain tumor.

She was known for her big bows, love of unicorns, adventurous spirit, and ability to light up every room, always making others smile even in hard moments. On her first day of radiation, when asked her name, she jokingly said “Bob” - a perfect reflection of the laughter and light she brought to every room she was in.

Sarah gained her wings ten months after her diagnosis, and the joy, strength, and light she shared continue to inspire everyone who knew and loved her.

Our mission goes beyond funding pediatric cancer research. We are committed to advancing safer, more effective treatments designed specifically for children impacted by pediatric cancer.🎗️

From learning and development to physical and emotional health, the effects of treatment do not simply fade with time. They become part of a child’s life as they grow up.

Even after treatment ends, many children continue to face challenges that shape their everyday experiences. These impacts are not always visible, but they are deeply felt by warriors and their families who stand beside them.đź’›

On December 15, 2025, Taylor was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL and immediately began an aggressive treatment journey at Children’s National in Washington, DC. Through every step, her strength and bright spirit have continued to shine.

In March, she was recognized as our honorary captain during LaCROSSe Out Cancer Day at the Premier Lacrosse League Championship Series.🥍🎗️

Last month, through a special connection with Northwestern alum and WLL player Izzy Scane, Taylor was welcomed by the Northwestern Women’s Lacrosse team for an unforgettable experience filled with encouragement, joy, and community.

At our 2026 Gala Illuminated, presented by our Gold Sponsor, Babyletto, the stories that will be shared reflect the heart of the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation’s mission. 💛

Our Gala Chair, Katie Taylor, advocates for families impacted by pediatric cancer, driven by her son Clark’s journey with retinoblastoma and his life today as a cancer-free warrior.

That same commitment is reflected in the National Charity League Juniors of Newport Beach, who will be honored for more than 15 years of service and nearly $500,000 raised to advance life-saving research.

Through this collective impact, we see what’s possible - celebrating The Bolinger Family and their daughter Rowyn’s cancer-free journey, alongside Dr. Tae-León Butler, now 18 years cancer-free and a resident at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, as she continues her path toward becoming a pediatric oncologist.

Join us for an evening honoring these inspiring stories! ✨

The future of pediatric cancer research and care is built on how we care for and stand beside children through every step of their cancer journey.

Our Biomedical Lifecycle Model is focused on three critical stages: building the next generation of care providers and researchers, supporting them throughout their careers, and accelerating the discoveries and programs that help children impacted by cancer not just survive - but thrive. 🎗️

This approach is embodied by scholars like Natalie Burrason, who battled Leukemia at just 2 years old while grieving the loss of her friend Alexa to Neuroblastoma.

Natalie is in remission and attending the University of Oklahoma, where she will continue working toward her goal of becoming a pediatric oncologist with the support of a scholarship she received last year from the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. đź’›

Her journey reflects the power of support at every stage - from Cradle to Career to Cure.

At just 2 years old, what began as a routine visit for an ear infection quickly turned into something far more serious. Doctors discovered a golf ball-sized tumor in his brain, requiring immediate surgery. Within 24 hours, Thatcher underwent a craniotomy, and soon after, his family received the diagnosis of Medulloblastoma.

The road that followed was long and complex. Multiple brain surgeries. Months spent in the PICU. Moments that should have been filled with childhood memories became hospital stays, procedures, and constant monitoring.

Thatcher continues to face the lasting effects of treatment, including hearing loss, neuropathy, and vision challenges. Through it all, his light shines on, along with his love for Clifford the Big Red Dog and dinosaurs. 💛🦖

His story is a powerful reminder of why pediatric cancer research matters.
