Introducing the Mercy Gate Family Restoration Program

At Mercy Gate, we believe restoration was never meant to stop with one person.

When a woman begins to heal, grow, and discover who God created her to be, that transformation has the opportunity to reach her children, her relationships, and even generations that haven’t been born yet.

That is the heart behind our new Family Restoration Program.

The Family Restoration Program exists to walk alongside women and their families, whatever family looks like for them, through healing, connection, discipleship, and long-term restoration.

For some women, that may mean rebuilding relationships with their children or navigating the reunification process. For others, it may mean strengthening the relationships they already have, learning healthy parenting skills, creating new patterns within their homes, or receiving support as they navigate motherhood.

And our support doesn’t end when someone graduates from Mercy Gate.

We want to continue walking alongside our alumni as their families grow, including women who become mothers after completing the program. Our hope is to keep them connected to the Mercy Gate community, provide ongoing parenting support and discipleship, and remind them that they still have a village to turn to in every new season of life.

The program is built around five foundational principles: trauma-informed care, grace-centered restoration, a family-systems approach, accountability with compassion, and long-term stability and generational healing.

Ultimately, this program is about more than parenting classes, visitation, or reunification.

It is about discipleship of the family.

It is about recognizing that restoration can ripple outward, into marriages, parenting, children, relationships, homes, and future generations.

We aren’t looking for perfect families. We are committed to walking alongside real families, in all the ways they may look, as God continues writing their story.

Healing women. Strengthening families. Changing generations.

🤍 Meet Andi | Family Program Coordinator

As we introduce Mercy Gate’s new Family Restoration Program, we also want to introduce the woman God has called to help bring this vision to life.

Andi Repka has spent much of her professional life serving children, women, and families. Her background includes working with children in foster care, case management, crisis support, resource navigation, and helping individuals and families navigate complex systems during some of the most difficult seasons of their lives.

But Andi’s history with Mercy Gate isn’t new.

In 2021, Andi joined Mercy Gate and helped develop our non-residential program, helping create another avenue for women to receive support and services outside of the residential setting. Eventually, God led her into a different season, one that included growing her own family, continuing her education in social work, and gaining an entirely new perspective on motherhood and family.

Through her professional experience, education, motherhood, and her own walk with the Lord, a new vision began taking shape.

A vision that asked:

What happens when a woman’s healing begins to reach beyond her and into her family?

What about the children impacted by her story? What about relationships that need to be rebuilt? What about the woman working toward reunification? What about the graduate who has a baby years after leaving Mercy Gate and finds herself navigating motherhood for the first time?

And most importantly, how do we continue to walk alongside her?

Andi returned to Mercy Gate with what she believes is a God-given vision for the Family Restoration Program, a program built around the belief that restoration shouldn’t end with the individual.

The program will allow Mercy Gate to intentionally walk alongside women and their families.

For Andi, this program brings together so many pieces of the journey God has taken her on: working with children and families, helping build programming at Mercy Gate, studying social work, being a mother of five, and developing an even deeper understanding that families were never meant to navigate life alone.

In many ways, her return to Mercy Gate is a full-circle moment.

She helped build something here in 2021. God then took her through a season that grew and prepared her in new ways. And now, she has returned with a dream to build something again, this time with a vision for the whole family.

We are so excited to have Andi leading this new chapter and cannot wait to see how God uses the Family Restoration Program to strengthen families, cultivate community, and impact generations to come.

🎉🌸 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR AMAZING LISA! 🌸🎉

Today we celebrate a woman who is truly one of a kind. Lisa, the world is genuinely a better place because you are in it! ❤️

There is something so special about the way you carry yourself. You walk in a gentle authority—never needing to demand attention, yet somehow bringing peace, clarity, and order wherever you go. You have a nurturing spirit that makes people feel safe, seen, loved, and cared for. You have a way of bringing calm into chaos and beauty into the ordinary.

And speaking of beauty… your eye for the details is something we absolutely adore about you. You see things others might overlook. You notice the little things, create beauty wherever you go, and somehow make everything around you feel more intentional, welcoming, and beautiful. 🌸✨

You wear so many hats, and somehow you wear them all with excellence. You are an incredible wife, mother, daughter, friend, leader, encourager, and so much more. But of all the hats you wear, our favorite is simply who you are in the Lord—a daughter of the King. 👑

You are an extension of His love and His nature. The way you love people deeply, genuinely, and sacrificially reflects something of His heart. You are real. You are true. You aren’t afraid of the hard conversations when they are necessary to help someone grow. You love deeply enough to tell the truth and tenderly enough to make people feel loved while hearing it.

And that combination is rare.

Lisa, you have been such a gift to so many people. Your friendship is the kind that feels like family. Your presence brings encouragement. Your wisdom brings perspective. Your love brings comfort. And your leadership carries both strength and tenderness.

We truly believe that this next year is going to be significant. We believe God is going to move mountains through you and Justin, and we are SO excited to have a front-row seat to watch everything He does! 🙌🔥

We believe there are things God has been preparing you for that you haven’t even fully seen yet. We believe He is going to expand your influence without compromising your tenderness, increase your capacity without stealing your joy, and open doors that only He could open.

🎂 OUR BIRTHDAY PRAYER FOR YOU:

Father, thank You for Lisa. Thank You for the woman You created her to be and for every life You have allowed her to touch.

Thank You for her heart, her strength, her wisdom, her tenderness, her courage, and her unwavering love for You and for people.

Lord, in this next year, refresh her deeply. Pour back into every place where she has poured out. Strengthen what feels weary. Restore what needs restoration. Bring fresh joy, fresh vision, fresh creativity, and fresh revelation of who she is in You.

Give her wisdom for every decision, grace for every assignment, and discernment for every season. Let her hear Your voice clearly and recognize Your leading quickly.

Bless her marriage. Bless her family. Bless the work of her hands. Let everything she touches that is aligned with Your purpose flourish.

And Father, we ask You to move mountains in this next year. Make a way where there seems to be no way. Open doors no one can shut. Bring divine connections, divine timing, divine provision, and divine opportunities.

Let her never lose sight of the greatest truth of all: she is Your beloved daughter. Before she is a wife, mother, leader, friend, or anything else—she is Yours.

May she know how deeply loved, chosen, delighted in, and treasured she is by You.

Surround her with people who will champion her, protect her, encourage her, challenge her, and remind her of who she is when she forgets.

And may this next chapter be marked by greater glory, deeper intimacy, abundant joy, and fruit that remains.

In Jesus’ name, amen. ❤️‍🔥

Lisa, we love you MUCH! We celebrate you today and thank God for the gift that you are to all of us.

HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY, SWEET LISA! 🥳🎂🌸💐🌹🌻

Here’s to watching God do exceedingly, abundantly above all we could ask or imagine through your life!

We love you, Sister! ❤️👑✝️

MEET THE LADIES OF MERCY GATE BANDERA ❤️‍🔥

This Breakthrough Week, we’re hearing from the women of Mercy Gate Bandera as they share what God has been doing in their lives.

✨ CHRISTINA

“I was held, renewed, refreshed, and felt the love and caring of all around me and through Him. He showed me that He is always with me and that He loves and cares about me.

I saw it. There were burdens being taken from me that I didn’t even realize I still struggled with.”

What a beautiful reminder that God sees the burdens we sometimes don’t even recognize we’re carrying. He meets us with His love, renews us, and brings freedom to places we didn’t know still needed healing. ❤️‍🔥

✨ LAWANA

“I was filled with the Holy Spirit, and I am breathing better. I was also able to give my testimony publicly for the first time, other than to my own church family.

I had healing from my asthma. I’m breathing better. Faith in the Lord—it works every time.”

Lawana stepped into something new as she publicly shared her testimony and experienced the power of God moving in her life. What began as a personal encounter became a testimony she could boldly share with others.

God is still healing.
God is still renewing.
God is still setting people free.
And every testimony is evidence that He is moving. ❤️‍🔥

This is Breakthrough.

Hope to see everyone tomorrow !!!

Lacie’s Breakthrough Testimony ❤️🥰

Breakthrough Week is the week where we all show up expectantly.

Of course, we should be expecting God every day, but life happens. The noise gets loud. The responsibilities pile up. And sometimes, without even realizing it, we forget what it’s all about.

This week has a way of bringing us back.

For some, it’s a chance to really look at the things we’ve taken on over the last year and ask, What needs to change? What needs to become a priority again?

For others, it’s the much-needed opportunity to turn off the noise of the world long enough to hear the Father’s voice a little more clearly.

For me, Breakthrough Week has always been about seeking His will, His heart, and His purpose for my life. And whatever our individual reasons are for seeking Him, the results are always so personal and so intimate.

I never leave without experiencing breakthrough.

This year, I came with one specific question on my heart:

“What do You want from me in this next season?”

And the answer He gave me was beautiful.

You see, this year—and more specifically this month—I celebrated three years of being incarceration-free.

I thought I was simply celebrating three years of not seeing the inside of the Gillespie County Jail.

But God showed me that I was celebrating so much more than that.

He began revealing to me ALL the areas of my life where He has given me freedom.

And there are so many.

I walk in a freedom today that no man can take from me.
I walk in His peace.
I know what it feels like to be fully known and fully loved by Him.
And I get to watch Him continue to redeem the places in my life that I once thought were beyond redemption.

And then, this week, something happened that felt like God putting an exclamation point on the whole thing.

My dad came to visit me from California, and he was welcomed and loved by so many people here.

This was the first time he had ever met my three youngest children.

Had he made this trip three years ago, he wouldn’t have been able to meet them.

Because three years ago, I had lost custody of my children. I had no contact with them. There was so much brokenness, so much uncertainty, and so much that I couldn’t see a way out of.

But God could.

And maybe that’s why my breakthrough this year wasn’t an answer about what my next season would look like.

My breakthrough was being able to sit in His love and gaze back at where He has already brought me.

Sometimes we are so focused on asking God, “What’s next?” that we forget to stop and look at everything He has already done.

So this week, I’m not rushing past the miracle.

I’m sitting in it.

I’m looking back.

I’m remembering the woman I was, the things I lost, the places I never thought I’d escape, and the life I never thought I’d have again.

And I am standing in absolute awe.

I look forward to the many breakthroughs He still has waiting for me in the days ahead. I believe there is so much more to come.

But this week…

I’m just grateful.

Grateful for freedom.
Grateful for restoration.
Grateful for my children.
Grateful for my family.
Grateful for a Father who never stopped pursuing me, even when I was running as far away from Him as I could.

And if He never did another thing for me…

It has already been more than enough.

BREAKTHROUGH: “HE WAS WAITING ON ME.” ❤️‍🔥

Today, we hear from Lisa, one of our DCS staff members, as she shares how God used Breakthrough Week to bring her into a new season of obedience, clarity, and identity.

Within the first few minutes of the first Breakthrough session, Lisa heard a question that stopped her in her tracks:

“What stands between you and your breakthrough? Are you waiting on God? Or is God waiting on you?”

That question became her aha moment.

Lisa realized there was something God had instructed her to do that she had not yet fully completed. She knew exactly what Holy Spirit was asking of her.

So she obeyed.

She went upstairs, finished the assignment God had given her,

And then something shifted.

“I finished what He told me to do and now I’m hearing from God like I haven’t in a long time.”

Sometimes when God seems quiet, we need to go back to the last thing He told us to do—and finish it well.

How often do we receive an instruction from God and treat it like a suggestion when He meant it as a direct order?

Lisa shared:

“The freedom, the clarity that came for me personally from Breakthrough Week has been life changing, a real catapult into my true identity.”

And then came the realization that says it all:

“God spoke. I listened. I was not waiting on God. He was waiting on me.”

🔥 Obedience is better than sacrifice.

Breakthrough is not always about God doing something for us.

Sometimes breakthrough comes when we finally say yes to what He has already told us to do.

Lisa also shares,
“Go back to the last thing you heard from God and see how you’ve responded.”

Lisa, thank you for being willing to listen, obey, and share what God is doing in you. We believe this is only the beginning of the new season He is leading you into.

Your breakthrough may be waiting on your obedience.
