Last weekend was all about bringing everyone together to get ready for Halloween. We spent the night carving pumpkins as a family, which quickly turned into some friendly competition to see who could pull off the best design. Beyond the laughs and the mess, it was really about the connection and making memories together.

We are so excited for our upcoming community game night as Harvest Academy takes on the Iowa Dreamakers in an epic game of Granny Basketball!

Join us on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Indianola High School Gym for a fun-filled evening of community, friendly competition, and support for a great cause. Doors open at 5:00 PM and the game tips off at 6:00 PM! Bring a donation for admission and don't forget to check out the awesome raffle items during the event!

All proceeds benefit Harvest Academy and the men working tirelessly to reinvent their lives. We would love to have everyone come out and show your support—see you there!

One thing we try to live by around here is the "happy to do it" attitude. Whether it’s stepping up to help a brother out, tackling a messy job like packing a truck full of impossible-to-stack items, or mentoring a newer student, you don't hear complaints, you just hear willingness.

At the end of the day, when you're of service to someone else, you're really helping yourself grow. It always comes back to our core belief: when A helps B, A gets better.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our co-founder, Walter Lauridsen. Walter believed wholeheartedly in Harvest Academy’s mission to provide individuals with the opportunity for a second chance. Walter was more than just a co-founder. He was a friend, supporter, and brother to everyone who walked through Harvest Academy’s doors seeking to change their lives. He was deeply committed to our work and passionate about lifting others up and investing in each person’s potential. Harvest Academy wouldn’t be where it is today without Walter’s unwavering support, compassion, and dedication to helping others. His legacy will continue to inspire our work and impact the lives of those we serve.

Halloween season is officially in full swing around here. The guys always go all-out with the costumes, and honestly, seeing everyone lean into the fun is the best part of October. It's a good reminder that building a real community means having room to laugh, be silly, and not take ourselves too seriously.

If you’ve been following our page for a while, you already know we love a good cake to celebrate a milestone. But sometimes, you just need a cake for National Dessert Day...and sometimes, you need that cake to come with a gentle reminder to put the fork down and get back to work.

While cleaning out one of our moving trucks and getting it ready for the week, look who we found hanging out inside! Turns out moving blankets aren't just good for protecting furniture or morning entertainment skits. They also make the coziest resting spots for our furry friends.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Harvest Academy for inviting us to your facility and making us feel so welcome. Not only did I get to see the incredible work being done, meet the men who are working hard to change their lives, and witness the impact of your organization, but I also got to relive a little of my childhood playing ping pong and basketball! 😂🏓🏀

There is nothing more powerful than an organization that genuinely loves what it does and truly cares about every person who walks through its doors. That kind of passion speaks volumes about the culture you are building and the lives you are changing every single day.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds and the doors that will open as we continue doing this important work in our communities.

One thing I believe with all my heart is that we all have a story, but sometimes our stories become someone else’s lessons on the road to success. Our past does not have to define our future. The things we’ve overcome, the lessons we’ve learned, and the changes we make can inspire someone else to believe that change is possible for them, too.

To Harvest Academy, keep creating an environment where men can grow, rebuild, discover their purpose, and write new chapters in their lives. Keep creating the stories, because those stories are creating success, hope, and inspiration for others.
