Local women coming together to make our community stronger. Members of 100+ Women Who Care Indianola gather on a quarterly basis and throw $100 in.

“100+ Women Who Care Indianola” gathers 100+ local women quarterly to give back locally in a big way. Women can submit nonprofit organizations, then 3 organizations will be randomly drawn, and the women who selected the 3 organizations drawn can briefly share about the organization they nominated and why they deserve the money. All the contributing women vote, if there are 100 women who donate, then the selected nonprofit gets a check for up to $10,000!

We have exciting news!! 🥁🥁🥁

Tonight was our THREE year anniversary, and WE DID IT, we officially hit our goal and topped $𝟏𝟓𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 in donations!!! 🥹🥹😭😭

Tonight we also heard from our July winner, Short Years Partnership, and learned they were able to purchase 75,000 (yes you heard that right!) diapers with our donation!!! 👶

The nonprofits drawn at tonight’s meeting were Jesse J Sanctuary Foundation (our winner!), Indianola Area Dollars for Scholars, and Operation Christmas! All great causes!

We are just feeling such overwhelming gratitude for all we’ve been able to give so far and we can’t wait to see what is in store! ❤️

A heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to Jesse J Sanctuary Foundation, our October winner of $10,000 and counting!!

The Jesse J. Sanctuary Foundation is a nonprofit located near Indianola that provides free, peaceful retreats for cancer patients and their families. Founded in memory of Minoo Spellerberg’s daughter Jesse Johnston, who passed away in 2020 after battling an aggressive form of brain cancer, the sanctuary was created by her family to extend the same kindness and support they experienced during her cancer journey. Surrounded by nature, the sanctuary offers families a place to rest, reconnect, and create lasting memories together during an incredibly difficult time.

What a beautiful idea and wonderful cause! Thank you ladies! ❤️

𝐉𝐔𝐋𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐑 🎉 It was such a blessing to proudly deliver a $11,600 check to the Short Years Partnership! You won't believe this .. but, with our donation they will able to purchase over 75,000 diapers!!!! Nope, that is not a typo! 😮👏🏻

𝐷𝑖𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 ....
✨1 in 2 families struggle to provide diapers for their children
✨ Healthy infants need up to 12 diapers every day to stay clean dry and healthy
✨ Diapers are not covered by federal programs like WIC & SNAP
✨ 3 in 5 parents miss work or school because they cannot afford the diapers required to leave their baby in child care

At the Short Years Diaper Bank, they provide monthly supplemental diapers to help ease that burden. They serve families in Dallas, Jasper, Warren, Marion, and Madison counties through our Parents as Teachers program, and also support the broader community. The Parents As Teachers program is free to any family in the area with a child aged birth through kindergarten entry. Short Years also offers group-based education for parents and providers through the Short Years Training Center. Their goal is to help parents & caregivers engage with their children in ways that lead to a lifetime of good health, educational achievement, and future success!

We couldn't be happier to support their mission! And, we hope to see you at our next 100 Women Who Care meeting in October!! It will be our THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! 🥰🤩🥳

We are so excited to announce that the winner of our July meeting was 🥁🥁🥁 ... Short Years Partnership with a total of $11,600! They had actually been nominated a few times before, so we were happy to see them be selected this go-round. We know there is such a need for diaper support, and are glad our organization can help support them in their mission!

We also took a check picture with last month's winner, Friends of the Indianola Public Library, and heard a little more about where things are at with our local library. Other organizations that were nominated were Indianola Music Boosters & Indianola Area Dollars for Scholars.

Thank you to everyone who came out to give back to our community and connect with other local women. We look forward to seeing you all again at Indianola Golf Club on October 13!!
