Calling all high school student performers, storytellers, and creatives!

KC Melting Pot Theatre is proud to partner with the Next Narrative® Monologue Competition (NNMC), a FREE opportunity for students to grow their voice, build confidence, and connect with artists from across the country.

Students can receive:
• Professional coaching and mentorship
• Scholarship opportunities for top regional winners
• An all-expense-paid trip to New York City for first and second place regional winners
• Industry workshops with theatre professionals
• Professional headshots
• Broadway show experiences
• The opportunity to perform on an Apollo Theatre stage in Harlem, New York

There is no cost for students or families:
• No application fee
• No travel or hotel costs
• No meal costs
• No workshop or ticket fees

Students of all experience levels are encouraged to participate.

The Puppetry Arts Institute is presenting "Show Me Missouri - an America 250 PUPPET Salute" show performed by Kraig Kensinger and Company on the following Saturdays in June: 6,13, 20, 27 at 11:00 am. The Spirit of Independence Band has an UPTOWN MARKET concert coming up on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 7:00 pm. We will be playing a few marches, a Claude Smith piece, Shenandoah, a ragtime piece called Chili Sauce Rag, as well as several others. Bring a lawn chair and come join us for that performance.

OR... If you're close to the Lake of the Ozarks, the SOI band has been invited to play for the annual Missouri Bandmaster's Association meeting at Margaritaville (Tan Tar A) on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 7:30 pm. We have some really fun music planned for that performance, and we are honored to play for this prestigious group.

All of our concerts are free and open to the public.
