Happy birthday, Gilbert Baker!
Gilbert is perhaps best known for creating the first pride flag in 1978, originally using 8 colors, including hot pink and teal, each color representing part of LGBTQ culture. But did you know he was also a Kansas native? Yep, he was born in Chanute!
Want to know more about him? Read his memoir, Rainbow Warrior: My Life in Color.

In each color is the meaning of each color: pink for s*x, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, teal for magic/art, indigo for serenity, and purple for spirit.
