The sole purpose of Project Q&A is to raise awareness for the over 2.9 million LGBTQ community who call rural America home.

Project Q&A works to educate rural communities on q***r issues, empower LGBTQ individuals and allies to create change, and raise the visibility of the LGBTQ population to create connections.

Happy birthday, Gilbert Baker!

Gilbert is perhaps best known for creating the first pride flag in 1978, originally using 8 colors, including hot pink and teal, each color representing part of LGBTQ culture. But did you know he was also a Kansas native? Yep, he was born in Chanute!

🌈Happy Harvey Milk Day!

Harvey Milk was a visionary civil and human rights leader who became one of the first openly gay elected officials in the United States when he won a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1977. (harveymilk.com)

May 17 is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, & Biphobia ( ). Both in the US and abroad, today is a global moment of solidarity and resistance for LGBTQIA+ communities.

True democracy must be built on inclusion, and thus we lift up and celebrate LGBTQIA+ people. This community has always been at the heart of movements for justice and freedom – organizing, resisting, and caring for one another.

You may be in a place where you don't feel safe expressing who you are. Know that there are people out there standing in solidarity with you, today and every day.
