KSHYC mourns the loss of our longtime counselor and board member, Dale Brewer. Dale was an integral part of camp for 30 years. Most of the male staff of KSHYC had Dale as their counselor when they were young campers. Over the years, Dale also donated food and helped with sports activities. He was a strong supporter of camp and served faithfully on the board. Above all, his passion for Jesus and love of young people shone through. This year at camp, while receiving an award for his years of service, Dale used the opportunity to encourage the young people to give their lives to Jesus. While our hearts are broken, we celebrate the life and contribution Dale made to our youth camp and rejoice that he now enjoys his eternal reward.

Dale was famous for leading the young people in a chant at breakfast that began with "I feel great today!" He wanted the young people to repeat it back to him whether they felt like it or not. This year, Dale has had many times when he did not "feel great today". But now in Heaven, he can truly and eternally declare "I feel great today!"

Rev 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Our deepest condolences go out to his wife, Megan Brewer, and the entire Brewer family.
