🌟Volunteer Spotlight of the Week🌟

This week, CCT shines its Volunteer Spotlight on Tannar Buchholz. Tannar has volunteered with our Crisis Team for the past year and a half. We always appreciate his willingness to help others, and he always has a smile on his face.

Tannar is a 2025 graduate of Independence High School and served an internship with the City of Independence in finance and accounting. He plans to continue pursuing his accounting degree at the University of Kansas.

Thank you, Tannar, for all you do. May God bless you!

🌟Volunteer Spotlight of the Week🌟

This week’s Volunteer Spotlight shines on the team of Kathy Raub and Karen Ferrell. Kathy and Karen - two of our original volunteers, and usually, when you see one, you see the other.

They excel at organizing, mentoring, and supporting others. Many of our brothers and sisters have experienced the kindness and compassion these two bring to Community Crisis Team.

Kathy, a retired school nurse for USD 446, provides valuable support and guidance regarding medical concerns. Karen, who served for many years as the USD 446 school board treasurer, brings tremendous knowledge and care to those we assist. Her background with AWOL has also helped many families, especially when pets are struggling alongside their owners during difficult times.

Through every season, Kathy and Karen have remained a steady and dependable part of our team. Their servant hearts, dedication, and willingness to help others continue to make a lasting impact on our community.

Once again, a big thank you to the Independence National Education Association. We appreciate your kindness.

🌟Volunteer Spotlight of the Week🌟

This week, we shine our CCT Spotlight on our good friend, David Sanchez.

David has volunteered with the Community Crisis Team for well over two years. Hailing from Bogotá, Colombia, he also serves as an interpreter for our Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters. David has been a tremendous help, especially during our Adopt-a-Family program, and he consistently provides encouragement to our Hispanic families.

David is a graduate of Independence High School and currently serves as branch manager for Equity Bank in Neodesha. He also successfully completed Mrs. Gorman’s fifth-grade class at Saint Andrew’s—with honors.

His wife, Avery, serves on the Community Crisis Team Board of Directors, making this truly a family affair for the Sanchez family. Their son, Ezra, will soon be ready to enter the CCT volunteer training program—just as soon as he’s walking and potty trained!

Thank you, David, and God bless.🌟
