๐ Independence has a long-standing tradition of coming together to celebrate our nation's independence, and we're proud to partner with the Independence Rotary Club to help make this year's fireworks show possible!
As America celebrates its 250th birthday, the Rotary Club's "Ignite Indy: America 250" campaign is working to raise $25,000 for an unforgettable community fireworks display on July 4th.
Whether you attend the fundraising lunch on June 19, make a donation online, or help spread the word, every contribution helps keep this cherished tradition alive for our community.
Thank you to the Independence, Kansas Rotary Club and all of the donors, volunteers, and businesses who help light up the skies over Independence each year! ๐บ๐ธ๐

๐Again this year, the Independence Rotary Club is championing a fundraising campaign to support the annual 4th of July community fireworks show. With a goal of $25,000, the โIgnite Indy: America 250โ campaign is now accepting financial contributions through the Community Foundation for Independence (CFFI), and the Rotary Club is planning a special fundraising event to support the campaign.
๐ญOn Friday, June 19, Rotarians will be serving up hot dogs, fixings, chips and drinks for lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Patio 210 for a recommended $10 donation to the fireworks fund. Delivery of lunch orders to business locations also is available by calling (620) 332-2536.
๐ฒDonors also may visit https://donorbox.org/rotary-fireworks-campaign-2026 to contribute to the Ignite Indy campaign. Donations by cash or check may be made by contacting any Rotary member or Fred Meier, Rotaryโs fireworks committee leader, at (620) 332-4906 or [email protected]. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
โAs our country celebrates its 250th birthday, we are anticipating an especially epic fireworks display in our community,โ Meier said. โWeโve always enjoyed generous support from our local citizens and businesses for our fireworks tradition, and we couldnโt be more grateful.โ
Meier said the effort is just shy of halfway to the goal at this point, with approximately $12,250 raised to date.
๐โIf everyone gives just a little, weโll be sure to hit our target. Thereโs no better place to celebrate our countryโs independence than in Independence.โ
