If you are a Veteran in the Montgomery County area, you owe it to yourself to try to be at this training Tuesday evening in Independence.

This training highlights the differences between rumor and truth about what VA will pay and won't pay for funerary expenses, how you apply for them, what other benefits you may be eligible for, how you can pass information to your family members that prevents them from missing out on important deadlines, and even the arrangement of your final services. Please come join us for dinner and an amazing event on Tuesday the 18th of November, 6:30 p.m. at Independence Memorial Hall in the Civic Center downstairs.

Before I start, I will not be naming any names. I have just learned that we lost one of our Community Green Zone Advocates in the very recent past to self-termination. This is a very difficult day for myself and other providers that are advocates and part of the program. Just because you are an advocate and a provider does not mean you are always okay. Please, please, please reach out. Those of you who are also providers, don't wait for a special day to reach out and check on your fellow advocates and friends who served or are associated with service. My heart is very heavy today, and I pray greatly for that individual's family and for the agency they served. Please share this so that it can reach someone in time.
