🎉 Some Team Changes at United Way of Eastern Idaho! 💛

We’re excited to introduce Alyssa McGavin, our new Program Director of Foster Grandparents!

Alyssa has called the Idaho Falls community home for the past two years and is excited to help grow our Classroom Helpers program, which gives adults ages 55 and older the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives through mentorship, tutoring, and supportive relationships.

Our Foster Grandparents program spans 24 counties across Idaho, and Alyssa is looking forward to expanding into new communities while strengthening the program in the communities we already serve. We’re thrilled to have her on the team!

At the same time, we’re saying a heartfelt goodbye to Stacy Butcher as she begins an exciting new chapter with the Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce! This is a true homecoming for Stacy, and we couldn’t be more excited for her. We’re so grateful for all she has contributed to United Way of Eastern Idaho and wish her nothing but the very best in this next adventure! ❤️

Please join us in welcoming Alyssa and wishing Stacy well! While we’ll miss having Stacy on our team, we’re excited for what’s ahead for both of them. 🌟

What an amazing turnout! 🎉 We loved seeing so many childcare directors and teachers come together for our Self-Regulation and Classroom Environment professional development training!

These opportunities help equip our early childhood professionals with valuable tools and strategies to support children’s growth and create positive, nurturing classroom environments. 💛

We’re grateful to offer these trainings through the Idaho Falls Early Learning Collaborative, with funding from Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to invest in the quality of early childhood education in our community! 🌟

💙 A big thank-you to some our amazing Women United members for helping organize winter clothing for our Ready. Set. GO! Clothing Program! 🧥🧤

We’re so grateful for your time, helping hands, and big hearts! Your efforts help us make sure local students have access to warm clothing as the weather gets colder. We couldn’t do what we do without wonderful people like you! 💙

Kindergarten prep can happen on your next grocery run. 🛒

Tomorrow’s activity on our Kindergarten Readiness Calendar: make a shopping list with your child. Let your little one help by drawing pictures of things you need, making scribbles, or trying to write the first letter of a word.

Once you’re shopping, let your child hold the list and mark off each item as you find it!

These simple, everyday activities help little ones build early writing skills, recognize letters, practice matching pictures to objects, and learn that writing has a purpose. Plus, it makes grocery shopping a fun learning adventure! 💛

The calendar is free to download and has a quick, doable activity for almost every day.
