The award recognizes leaders who strengthen the U.S. nuclear workforce through collaboration, innovation, and real impact. That's Hope every day.

This week, Hope and Christi are at NEI's Nuclear Energy Workforce Summit, held in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy . The goal is simple. Build the workforce America's nuclear future needs. That takes industry, government, education, labor, and workforce development all working together.

Hope is proof that Idaho's nuclear workforce is in great hands.

One thing is clear. Idaho is Nuclear ready. Monday, the nuclear frontier came together in Idaho for IAEC's Milestone in Nuclear event. We celebrated a groundbreaking 2025-2026 and looked ahead to what's next.

It was a full room and a full agenda. We heard about INEC's $40M U.S. Economic Development Administration Tech Hub grant. That investment puts Idaho and the Intermountain West on the map as a national leader in advanced nuclear. We got a look at the future of the National Reactor Innovation Center launch pad. We also learned what's happening on the ground at Raven-Flint and Lightbridge, where new nuclear technology is moving from idea to reality.

Local voices mattered too. The Bannock County Commissioner shared what this growth means for the communities that will host it. College of Eastern Idaho walked us through current work in the nuclear workforce programs. The Advanced Nuclear Task Force gave an update on the policy and planning side.

Federal investment, industry innovation, and local leadership all showed up in one place. That's how a region becomes an energy hub.

Great things have happened in Idaho. Even bigger things are coming!

In July, U.S. Department of Energy officials announced Idaho is a finalist to host one of the new Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses.

College of Western Idaho was built by the Treasure Valley, for the Treasure Valley. Founded in 2007, when Ada and Canyon County voters created Idaho's newest community college district, CWI grew out of Boise State University's technical training programs, and its Nampa campus, home to the Micron Education Center, sits on what was once BSU's West Campus.

Today, CWI trains the technicians Idaho's industries need most. Programs like Advanced Mechatronics & Engineering Technology (AMET) prepare students for electronics, instrumentation, and robotics, giving graduates hands-on, job-ready skills. CWI has also connected students directly with Idaho National Laboratory leadership, linking classroom training to the state's advanced energy and nuclear innovation pipeline.

CWI joined IAEC to help close Idaho's workforce gaps in advanced energy, supply chain, cyber, electrical, construction, and nuclear technology, and to identify exactly where the college can support the state's energy industry going forward.
