There are days when ministry is joyful... and there are days when ministry is just plain hard.
Yesterday was one of those hard days.
We were blessed to receive 1,080 pounds of potatoes from Hunger Foodbank 🥔 What an incredible blessing for the families we serve.
But blessings sometimes come wrapped in heavy lifting.
At 65 years old, I unloaded more than 500 pounds of potatoes by myself in the summer heat while waiting for my 70-year-old husband to arrive so he could help finish the job. By the end, we were exhausted, sweaty, and sore.
And you know what? We'd do it again tomorrow.
Because every bag of potatoes represents a family that won't have to worry about putting food on the table.
This is what happens behind the scenes at reGen Grab & Go. Before the doors ever open, before the smiles and shopping carts, there are volunteers lifting, sorting, organizing, and serving, often in difficult conditions, because we believe our neighbors matter.
