At Adaptive Freedom Foundation, volunteers are so much more than helping hands.

They are the heart of what we do.

They are the ones who show up early, stay late, carry boards, check life jackets, walk beside participants, offer encouragement, create safety, and bring joy into every moment.

But what they build goes far beyond the event itself.

Together, our volunteers, participants, families, and team have created a community that feels like family — the kind of chosen family rooted in support, encouragement, empowerment, love, and truly seeing one another.

Because of our volunteers, participants don’t just come to paddle.

They come to be seen.
They come to be valued.
They come to feel capable, included, and free.
They come back because they know they belong.

To every AFF volunteer: thank you.

You are essential to the safety and operation of this organization, but even more than that, you are the heartbeat of AFF.

You help make this community what it is.

Adaptive Freedom Foundation has grown so much over the years, and as we continue expanding our programs, impact, and community, we’re exploring what our visual identity should look like moving forward.

Our current logo has been part of our story from the beginning, and we honor everything it represents. We’re also looking at a potential refreshed version that brings in more of the water, movement, and freedom that AFF is all about.

Join us on Friday, June 20th at Mother’s Beach in Long Beach for a day of connection, adventure, and freedom on the water.

As we head into Father’s Day weekend, we’re especially grateful for the dads, grandpas, caregivers, and family members who show up, lend a hand, cheer from the shoreline, and help make moments like these possible. ❤️
