Our chapter was founded as an auxiliary of the Santa Ana Chapter in 1941. Assistance League of Huntington Beach was chartered in 1950 with the purpose mentioned above, to act as a friend to all we meet. We currently have over 300 volunteers who provided over 30,000 service hours last year to our community returning over $333,000.00 in goods and services back to the local community

When our chapte

r was first chartered we opened the first thrift store in Orange County. Our first philanthropic programs were raising money to fight polio, purchasing penicillin for the needy families and even making bed jackets and jelly for hospital patients. As times changed, so did the nature of our philanthropic programs. We have worked with senior citizens, operated a speech center, tutored for the SAT Test, and staffed a hospital gift shop. Today our current philanthropic programs have changed to meet the current needs in our community. Today our Thrift Shop and our annual fundraising event, held in the spring, as well as donations, sponsorships and grants provide a continuing source of income that sustains the organization's philanthropic programs.

It’s groovy to give🙏🏼🙌

Our Assistance League of Huntington Beach Thrift Shop bins are running low, and we need your new and gently used donations of clothing and household items. Your contributions are turned into funding for programs that support children, families, students, and survivors in our community.

Drop off donations during store hours and Monday–Saturday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at 8071 Slater Avenue in Huntington Beach. Thank you for helping us keep the good going.

Our Assistance League of Huntington Beach Thrift Shop has reopened with fully refreshed and restocked with new merchandise, just in time for summer and 4th of July finds.

Thrift with us Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm, and donate during store hours plus Monday–Saturday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Every purchase helps fund local programs for children and families in our community.

Wrapping up an amazing Operation School Bell season
Our final Operation School Bell nights of the school year were held at Target Adams on May 13 and Walmart on May 14, where local students picked out new clothing and essentials to head into summer feeling confident and cared for.

A huge thank you to our incredible co chairs, Linda Allen and Barbara Flanagan, and to every volunteer, donor, and partner who made this year’s Operation School Bell a success. We will be back in the fall with more shopping nights, more smiles, and more support for local students.
