At our Huntington Beach Host Lions Club meeting last night, we presented a donation to Therapeutic Riding Center of Huntington Beach.

Our guest speaker was Terri Quinlan, who gave an overview of Operation Song. This group does incredible work supporting our veterans.

We raise funds throughout the year with events such as Crabfest and Oktoberfest. Please support our fundraisers so we can continue to provide funds to local non-profits.

Our Huntington Beach Host Lions Club meeting last night was special, as we presented donations to four important local non-profits:

Amuse Foundation - Brittany Bas
Angels4Paws - Holly Spritzer
Special Olympics SoCal - Sasha Cruz
Robyne's Nest - Nicole Trani

We also awarded Victor Readers to three OC residents who are legally blind. This was funded by our Marjorie Vallancey Memorial Scholarship.

After cooking for the Huntington Beach City Junior Lifeguards - Past and Present last weekend, Huntington Beach Host Lions Club cooked pancake breakfast today for the Huntington State Beach Junior Lifeguards. Another nice morning at the beach with a great group of youth and adult volunteers.

Huntington Beach Host Lions Club held our first meeting of the Lion year last night. Our new president Monica Monica Statz Miller chaired her first meeting, complete with the usual hyjinks.

We had an excellent speaker, Carmen Urenda, from the California Lions Friends in Sight and she gave us an update on the free vision screenings and eyeglasses their organization provides.

PDG Scott Quinlan presented a pair of smartglasses funded by our Marjorie Vallancey Memorial Scholarship.

Lion Trinon Carter belatedly received his Lions Clubs of District 4-L4 sparkplug award.

A good time was had by all!
