SCART is a non-profit organization and was founded to respond to animal needs and assist other agencies during a local or national disaster or crisis. We educate the public to prepare for a disaster and train them to care for their animals before, during and after a crisis. We also assist local and national agencies by responding to a crisis with trained volunteers, which can include evacuation an

d shelter management teams. We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on fundraisers and donations to support our team and their efforts.

Back-to-school changes can mean more open doors, tempting lunchbox smells and pets who suddenly spend more time alone. Keep backpacks and school supplies out of reach—especially sugar-free gum or candy that may contain xylitol, medications, chocolate, grapes, raisins, batteries, glue and small objects that can be swallowed.
