🔥Box 65-4 Working House Fire🔥
At 0710 this date Huntingdon 911 struck the 65-4 box for a dwelling fire, caller was reporting possible fire in the basement with smoke filling the house. Deputy Chief 65 (Garner) was out direct, arriving on scene with smoke showing. Engine 65-1 was first arriving stretching the 300’ preconnect to the charlie side making access to the walkout basement where the bulk of the fire was, Rescue 10 was second arriving and supplied Engine 65-1 and then pulling a second line to backup the initial crew. With Truck 65 following, the Truck crew laddered the roof for vertical ventilation before deeming it wasn’t needed due to the initial crew getting the hit. The truck crew then assisted interior opening windows preparing for positive pressure ventilation while completing a primary search and retrieving the occupants cat which was alive and well, further being reunited with the owners. Engine 65-2 laid 1,100 feet of 5” LDH to supply the fire scene and then assisted with overhaul. Due to the first arriving crews making an aggressive hit, the fire was contained to the point of origin with obvious smoke damage throughout. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time but appeared to be accidental.
