Old Faithful Rescue and Sanctuary Our mission at Old Faithful Rescue and Sanctuary is to Rescue horses out of the slaughter pipeline. We are a 501C3 Non-profit Organization.

We rehabilitate them, rehome or keep them here in our Sanctuary as permanent residents.

Hi everyone, so far, our fundraiser has not been super successful. We have gotten donations, and some very generous, but if you can help it would be wonderful. I will keep it going until the weekend and then close it down. Today I was diagnosed with lymphadema, similar to Jet's lymphangitus. I'm pretty down about it. Im hoping for a happy ending for all of us. (But mostly the horses) ❤️ We have Venmo - or PayPal -

Two of our horses at Old Faithful Sanctuary, Jet and Chief. Why would I keep them? Jet has lymphangitus, or tree trunk leg. Every day I treat his leg, care for him even though he's alot of work. Chief is in his 30s, ribs showing, he has a giant attitude and is hard to deal with. Both are no longer rideable, responsible for many high vet bills, so why do we keep them? . But they are my friends, and happily living out their lives here, which makes me happy. So we keep on with our fundraisers to help! Mark was putting a pallet away into a spare hay stall and came across a surprise, Jet, in there snacking 😀. We hadn't even known he was out. Hi everyone, the horses and i need help, it's that time of year, for our Hay Is For Horses Fundraiser! I try to run as few fundraisers as possible, because I i know everyoneis short of money and struggling, this one for hay, one at Christmas and then only if we have a special need, such as a big vet bill. But I'm sorry to say, I have no money saved, and I haven't purchased a single bale of hay yet this year for the coming winter, so I have to get moving for the horses. That's my High Visibility Vest that I wear when I ride. I've been looking for it for about a week. It suddenly showed up next to Jet in the paddock. He's pretty sure if he puts his innocent face on, he can get away with the theft 😀

It's just about summer and Chief still is showing some ribs. But that sometimes happens on the older horses. But he is doing very good in my opinion! First, he shiny and bright eyed. Second, he's so much more lively! Over the winter he looked and acted like a very old, very tired horse, showing every one of his 30 something years of age. Letting himself be pushed around and struggling to finish his meals. This here is a good example, he's the oldest, smallest (by more than a full hand) horse in the group, but the big horses are all behind him, stuffed into a small group, while he waits at the gate to be first in line. He's back to being in charge, very pushy, and first for everything!! Even pushy and slightly rude Angus is more than happy to let Chief be first!! 😀 ❤️
