Healing Heroes Foundation

Members of the DOC Hockey Team participated in the Healing Heroes Foundation's BFit Heroes Cup last weekend, joining first responders and military from across the region in a hockey tournament fundraiser to support the health and well-being of those who serve.

The tournament included recognitions for several recently fallen first responders, including a recognition of Correction Officer John Edwards with a moment of silence during the opening ceremony and his photo placed in a memorial hockey net during the event. The DOC team also created a commemorative jersey bearing Officer Edwards' name. We are grateful to the Healing Heroes Foundation for its support of the Edwards family.

One of the unique athlete wellness features at Heroes Cup 2026 was The WellNest mobile sauna and cold plunge, providing players with an opportunity to recover between games throughout the weekend. With many athletes competing in multiple games each day, proper recovery helps keep them performing at their best while reducing fatigue and promoting overall wellness. 🎥: G O O S E
