How do schools create learning environments where students can fully engage without the distraction of constant notifications?

In an op-ed in the CommonWealth Beacon, Phoenix Charter Academy Network CEO Beth Anderson reflects on the school’s long-standing cell phone policy launched eight years ago, and the lessons learned along the way. As she writes, “With three distinct campuses in Chelsea, Lawrence and Springfield, Phoenix staff quickly realized a one-size-fits-all policy wouldn’t work, nor would a top-down approach.”

It’s a valuable perspective on why flexibility matters when implementing policies that support student learning and success.

What a beautiful way to honor and celebrate the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander students and families who enrich their school community every day. We love seeing students' cultures, traditions, and identities reflected and celebrated in such meaningful ways.
