The Howell Downtown Stories in Storefronts StoryWalk is officially open! 🎉📚

Take a stroll through downtown Howell and follow the story of Acoustic Rooster and his barnyard band of musical friends.

The story unfolds across the windows of 11 downtown businesses, beginning at the Howell Carnegie Library. Pick up a map in Youth Services, follow the story from stop to stop, and enjoy interactive activities along the way. It’s a fun and free way to explore downtown, encourage reading, and make some summer memories with your little ones.

Happy reading and happy exploring! 🐓🎶☀️📖

When young children visit parks, libraries and community events, they develop important social-emotional, language, and problem-solving skills. Meeting new people and exploring different environments helps build confidence, curiosity, adaptability, and a sense of belonging in our community 😎

We are thrilled to partner with Livingston Hunger Council to help spread hunger awareness and action in our community through the power of stories! 📚❤️

Visit Genoa Charter Township Park to read "Kevin and the Food Drive." This story for young children highlights food insecurity in an age-appropriate way while encouraging generosity and community action.

Interested in making an impact, too? Organizations can sponsor a StoryWalk story designed for children ages 0–5. It's a meaningful way to support early literacy 💛 Send us a message—we'd love to connect!
