Due to a packed full event, the barrel will not be there tomorrow. Please reach out if you need any assistance with disposing of medications!

Big Red Barrel will be in Downtown Brighton on Main Street from 9am-3pm on Saturday, October 10th, 2026 for Brighton Area Fire Authorities' 150th Anniversary and Annual Open House!

We will be collecting sharps and medication.

This is a free service. No questions asked. Put pills in a zip lock container, they can be mixed together. We prefer not to have the medicine container. Keep liquid medications separate. Dump into a zip lock bag with enough paper towel to soak up the liquid. Needles must be the proper disposal container, either purchased from a pharmacy or use a plastic laundry detergent bottle. Reseal the bottle and tape it. Do your part to keep medications from being abused. Do not flush unused medication.

We will also be at Recycle Livingston in Howell from 9am-1pm on Saturday!
