FATHER TO THE FATHERLESS ❤️

“A father to the fatherless… is God in his holy dwelling.” — Psalm 68:5

Earthly fathers may fail, leave, or be taken away, but our heavenly Father remains faithful.

Through Jesus Christ, we are no longer spiritual orphans. We are adopted into God’s family and can cry, “Abba! Father!” (Romans 8:15).

And God calls His church to reflect His heart—loving, protecting, mentoring, and discipling those who need a faithful presence.

No one is forgotten in the family of God.

❤️ WANNA KNOW GOD’S HEART?

See the image our Trinity Hillsboro Youth Mission Team shared before their Sunday service. It reminds us of something at the very heart of God: He desires people to turn to Him, know the truth, and be saved.

📖 Ezekiel 18:23 — God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but desires that they turn from their ways and live.

📖 1 Timothy 2:3–4 — God our Savior “desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

That is God’s heart for the lost—and it must become our heart too.

We don’t simply go on mission trips. We live on mission.
We don’t just talk about the Great Commission. We participate in it.

🌎 God loves the nations.
❤️ God seeks the lost.
👣 God sends His people.

DAY 3: ANOTHER MEMORABLE & BLESSED DAY IN COSTA RICA!🇨🇷🙏❤️

What another incredible day serving alongside the Trinity Youth Mission Team in Costa Rica!

Today was filled with opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus:

🏫 Ministering at two public schools
🎨 Painting and serving at a local public school
🤝 Connecting personally with children, parents, teachers, and families
🍧 Sharing bolis (popsicles) and lots of smiles with the kids
🙏 Visiting, encouraging, and praying for the father of our GLOCAL Mission leader (Odir Rojas) in Costa Rica

And as a bonus blessing from God’s beautiful creation, along the road we got to see sloths 🦥, monkeys 🐒, iguanas 🦎, and toucans 🐦! What a wonderful reminder of the beauty and creativity of our Creator and everlasting love of Jesus! 🌿🇨🇷

Every day, we stand in awe of what God is doing.

We came to Costa Rica hoping that God would use us to touch and transform lives through the Gospel. Yet we are discovering something beautiful: God is transforming us just as much—perhaps even more—than those we came to serve.

Every day brings new testimonies—stories of divine appointments, meaningful conversations, answered prayers, unexpected connections, and moments when we can clearly see God at work.

Mission is not simply about what we do for others. It is about what God does in us while He works through us.

We came to serve, but we are being served.
We came to encourage, but we are being encouraged.
We came to bless, but we are being blessed.
We came to share Jesus, and Jesus is transforming us. ❤️

Thank you, Lord, for another unforgettable day—and even for the unexpected blessings along the road! 🦥🐒🦎🐦🌿

Day 2: Our Trinity Youth Mission Team experienced a glimpse of heaven through countless God-moments.

We had the joy of connecting with wonderful children, youth, and elderly people throughout the day—in public schools, on the streets, in stores, at the plaza (soccer fields), and in homes. God was at work everywhere we went.

Yesterday, we served over 120 kids, youth, and parents at a local school and at the Plaza of Katira (soccer field) through energetic songs with choreographed actions, a gospel-centered skit, relationship-building games, and sweet treats. More importantly, we had the privilege of sharing the love and hope of Jesus with them.

What a full, joyful, and incredibly blessed day! We are grateful for every conversation, every smile, every prayer, and every opportunity to be Christ’s hands and feet. God is so good! 🙌❤️

What a First Day with Trinity Hillsboro Youth Mission Team in Costa Rica! 🇨🇷

Something hilarious happened during our game of tug-of-war… 😄 Can you guess what it was? Watch the video attached!

Our first day of ministry in Katira, Costa Rica, was nothing short of amazing.

We walked through the streets of Katira to Odir’s Café, where we enjoyed fellowship, orientation, and evangelism training. We also had the joy of celebrating with our mission leaders, Odir and Dailin, by presenting gifts for their newborn baby.

The afternoon was filled with ministry as we hosted a park outreach for local high school students. We shared the love of Christ through muddy soccer matches, an energetic tug-of-war, a gospel presentation skit, and meaningful one-on-one conversations while giving out candy and sharing the good news of Jesus.

What a wonderful way to begin this mission trip! Our hearts are full as we’ve already experienced so many God-moments, built new friendships, and had the privilege of proclaiming the hope of Christ. We can’t wait to see what God has planned in the days ahead!

Please keep our team, the local churches, and the people of Costa Rica in your prayers. 🙏

If the last two months have been so incredibly blessed, we can’t wait to see what God has in store for this new month.

Today David Kim will be traveling to Costa Rica to welcome and help lead a mission team from Hillsboro, Oregon, that will be arriving tomorrow. This team has already been a tremendous blessing to their local congregation by serving in their Vacation Bible School (VBS), and yesterday they were commissioned as missionaries for this mission journey. What a beautiful reminder that every believer is sent to make Christ known!

We also can’t wait to reconnect with dear brothers and sisters and friends in Costa Rica, and to meet the many new people God has already prepared for this journey.

Please pray that the Lord would prepare hearts to receive His love and His Gospel, and that His presence would be evident through every conversation, every relationship, and every planned—and even unplanned—moment of ministry.

Above all, please pray that the Lord will keep the entire mission team safe, healthy, and united throughout the journey, using each member as His instrument for His glory and the advancement of His Kingdom.

May God alone receive all the glory!
