⛵Boats on Kinder Lake closed starting September 7

☀️It's the last weekend for bumper boats and cruiser boats on Kinder Lake. The boats will take a short break starting Monday, September 7 , but will return with the Houston Pumpkin Festival on September 19.

✨Discover Fantastic Animals from Mexico: Alebrijes and Nahuales!

🇲🇽During Hispanic Heritage Month enter the spirit realm through Mexican magical realism and Mesoamerican folklore! Eight, 20-foot statues will be scattered across the park depicting beautifully vibrant alebrijes and nahaules.

🎨During this time, two art workshops lead by Irving Mondragon Laguna will showcase the techniques behind the fall art installation. Adults may also endulge in special cocktails inspired by the art work at The Grove Houston, Xochi or Zaranda Restaurant For more info visit the link in bio.

🎃The Houston Pumpkin Festival comes to life at Discovery Green. From September 19 through November 8, celebrate the magic of fall in the heart of downtown in a festive farmland of pumpkins, rides and more! Bumper boats, cruiser boats and all rides included in ticket purchase. Food sold separately.

🌊Make a splash in the Gateway Fountain!
 
☀️The jets at the splash pad have been improved to create bigger and better water spouts, perfect for cooling off in this hot Texas weather. 🇲🇽 México en el Corazón is one month away. This Hispanic Heritage Month celebrate the beauty of Mexican culture with a FREE vibrant performance at Discovery Green. Discover the music, traditions and dances that make up such a culturally rich country. Attendees will also have the option to shop from a special curated market filled with Mexican goodies.

🌳Only the first 1,700 people to arrive will be able to sit on the hill in front of the stage. Guests should arrive early to secure a wristband that will allow them to move in and out of the area. An RSVP does not guarantee you a wristband. Additional seating will be provided on the Jones Lawn accompanied by a jumbo viewing screen.

📥Register for the first artist workshop from Fantastic Animals!

🎨All ages are welcome to a FREE workshop with artist Irving Mondragón Laguna, as he teaches the technique behind this year's fall art installation. At the end of the workshop you can take home your very own papier mache mask.

👨‍🎨This workshop is a feature of the fall art installation, Fantastic Animals from Mexico: Alebrijes and Nahuales. During Hispanic Heritage Month, visitors can enter the realm of Mexican magical realism as they discover eight, 20-foot sculptures depicting fantastic creatures from the realm of the spirits.
