Early Saturday morning vet appointment for our newest senior 🖤

Meet Precious 💔🐾

Precious is a tiny Chihuahua, nearly 13 years old, who recently lost the only home she’s ever known after her owner passed away. She’s now safe in foster care with us, but she needs your help.

When Precious arrived, she was suffering from severe dental issues that have clearly been causing her a great deal of pain. At her age, she deserves comfort, love, and the chance to truly enjoy her golden years, not live in discomfort. Due to her age and size, the care she needs has a substantial increased risk.

We are working to get her the medical care she urgently needs, but we can’t do it alone. Donations will go directly toward her dental treatment and ongoing care so she can finally feel relief and live the rest of her life surrounded by kindness.

If you’re able to give, no amount is too small. And if you can’t donate, sharing her story means the world.

Meet Njord (pronounced “Nyord”), named after the Norse god of the sea, wind, and adventure fitting for a pup ready to take on the world! Njord is a 7–8 month old pug/chi mix who was found wandering a neighborhood in the North Houston area, and now he’s ready to trade street life for a forever home.

This boy is ALL puppy, full of energy, curiosity, and excitement to learn. He’s smart and eager, but he’s also… well..... Njord has a mischievous streak and will absolutely keep you on your toes, so he’s looking for a home that’s ready to guide him with patience, consistency, and a sense of humor.

He does great with other dogs and loves to play, making him a fun addition to a home with a canine companion. As for cats, he has barked at the ones in his foster home but quickly learned they’re in charge—he hasn’t shown continued interest after being corrected (by the cats themselves!).

Njord is neutered, fully vaccinated, and more than ready to start his next adventure. He just needs a family willing to embrace his goofy, spirited personality and help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be.

If you’re looking for a playful, slightly naughty, but totally lovable sidekick—Njord might just be your guy.

Last week, one of our incredible foster families experienced an unthinkable tragedy. They lost their home in a devastating fire.

In the middle of it all was Gidget.

Gidget has been with our rescue since 2022 after surviving life on the streets. She has already fought through severe skin issues caused by allergies, showing resilience every step of the way. But in a matter of minutes, she was faced with losing everything all over again.

As flames engulfed the home, her devoted foster mom risked her own life, going back inside multiple times, determined to save Gidget. Through thick, black smoke, brave firefighters were finally able to locate her. She was pulled to safety with only singed hair on her back and paws, hosed down from the intense heat, placed on a gurney and given oxygen.

She survived. 💔

But now Gidget needs us again.

With her foster family displaced, Gidget has nowhere to go. We are urgently searching for a new foster home or better yet, a forever family for this incredibly deserving girl.

She has been through more than most dogs ever should, and after everything she endured, we are begging for her not to spend even a single night in boarding.
