At St. Peter United, we host nonpartisan candidate forums because when candidates hear directly from congregants — especially those whose voices are often overlooked — they gain a richer, more grounded perspective on the issues that shape daily life, including safety, equity, housing, education, and the social drivers of health.
We are excited to introduce our final slate of candidates, who will share their ideas on how their courts can impact families, safety, and community well-being.
Judge Katherine Thomas, who is seeking re‑election to Harris District Judge, 184th Judicial Court. Judge Thomas has worked hard to reduce our courts' docket size, and she’s piloted the first Emerging Adult Docket in Harris County. She endeavors to identify more community-based programs to help those with mental health disorders.
Judge Ashley Mayes Guice, for Harris County Criminal Court at Law #12, focuses on equal justice for all, community outreach, and equity, because no one is above or below the law.
Finally, we welcome Tiffany Hill, who is running for election for judge of the Texas 495th District Court, to the Candidate Forum. Ms. Hill brings nearly 14 years of criminal-law experience from multiple perspectives within our justice system, and, if elected, she will focus on creating a court that is efficient, accountable, accessible, and dedicated to public safety.
