Troop 1283 Mission Statement:
Troop 1283 will instill our scouts with lifetime values in Citizenship, Service, Leadership and Ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law through a scout led, adult guided program that offers Adventure, Friendships and Advancement in a Safe and Fun Environment. Joining Troop 1283 means signing up for adventure. Boy Scout Troop 1283 is part of the Sam Houston Area Council, in West Houston chartered by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Troop 1283 has a fun and safe environment for Boys ages 11-17. The Scouts of Troop 1283 plan and organize monthly camping trips that focus on a variety of activities including rock climbing, backpacking, mountain biking, canoeing, shooting sports, white water rafting, tubing, caving, fishing and hiking. At Troop 1283, we love adventure and have plenty of it with our variety of campouts and activities. We have regular patrol competitions to enhance outdoor skills and increase patrol teamwork. 🦅 Does becoming an Eagle Scout truly set you apart? A new study by The Harris Poll surveyed thousands of adults to see how Eagle Scouts compare to those who were never in Scouting.

The study: “𝘌𝘢𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘚𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴: 𝘈 𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘤𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘴-𝘉𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦,” shows that Eagle Scouts possess lifelong strengths and a value-based foundation that genuinely sets them apart from their peers.

At Monday’s meeting, Troop 1283 held troop elections — an important part of Scouting that gives Scouts the opportunity to practice leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and having a voice in their troop’s future.

Congratulations to Ethan on being elected as our next SPL! We’re excited to see his leadership in action this coming term.

After elections, the Scouts wrapped up the evening with a fun game of GaGa ball!

🌟 Welcome to Troop 1283! 🌟

We’re excited to officially welcome some new Scouts into our troop family! These outstanding young men recently crossed over from Pack 1187 during their bridging ceremony last week, and we couldn’t be happier to have them join our troop.

Please give a warm Troop 1283 welcome to Noah, Vinny, and Nicholas! 👏

We’re looking forward to all the adventures, growth, and great memories ahead. Once a Scout joins, they become part of something bigger—and we’re proud to have you with us!
