While this source is trash, the TL;DR is that book banners are frustrated with the SB 13 Advisory Committee (SLAC) reading & considering challenged books in their entirety.

So traveling book-banning activists are demanding Lubbock ISD override the lawful local policy.

Turns out when parents actually read challenged books in their entirety, they donā€™t think most of them should be banned after all.

Very frustrating for the book banning agenda. šŸ« 

If youā€™re local to Lubbock ISD, it wouldnā€™t hurt to email your admin and trustees and tell them theyā€™re doing the right thing following the board approved EFB Policy.

Tell them you want the SLAC to continue evaluating challenged books in their entirety and that you trust librarians and parents- not outside agitators- to make decisions that impact Lubbock ISD studentsā€™ access to library books.

We had THE best time tonight at in Leander! Our friend delivered the pep talk we all needed before we head into the SBOE meeting tomorrow, where we will be opposing the proposed state mandated required reading list, and the white-washed, inaccurate Social Studies revisions.
