Today, hundreds of beagles left Ridglan – feeling grass and sunshine for the first time – after Big Dog Ranch Rescue and the Center for a Humane Economy mase a deal to buy 1,500 of the dogs.

They believe it will take at least 10 days to get all 1500 beagles transported.

According to the most recent U.S. Department of Agriculture estimate, approximately 2,200 dogs were caged at the facility, meaning approximately 700 will remain under the current arrangement. Activists are still pushing to get all released.

Still, while everyone is immensely happy for the hundreds finding loving homes, many are questioning any sort of 'rescue via purchase' and what that means for the future of Ridglan.

That said, thank you to activists that bring the world's attention to these issues.

AND those working with rescues and shelters across the country. Events like this get lots of attention, but they are trying their damnedest to save lives and give comfort every single day.
