What began in 1946 as Aloha Week has grown into Aloha Festivals, Hawaiʻi’s largest cultural celebration. 🌺

Created by the Jaycees Old-timers of Hawaiʻi to honor the islands’ music, dance, history and heritage, the celebration became Aloha Festivals in 1991.

Today, thousands of volunteers, community sponsors and supporters help bring Aloha Festivals to life each year, welcoming more than 100,000 people to celebrate Hawaiian culture and aloha across the islands.

As we mark 80 Years of Aloha, mahalo for helping us carry this legacy forward. ✨

Celebrate 80 Years of Aloha with the official 2026 Aloha Festivals ribbon! 🌺🐢

This year’s design features the honu, or Hawaiian green sea turtle, as a symbol of this milestone anniversary. Often regarded as an ʻaumākua, or family guardian spirit, the honu represents wisdom, protection, perseverance, good fortune and a deep connection to Hawaiʻi’s islands and people. With a lifespan of up to 80 years, it is a fitting symbol for this historic year.

Purchase your ribbon and support Aloha Festivals at AlohaFestivals.com/shop.

Pāʻū riding has been part a cherished Hawaiʻi tradition since the 1800s, when women adapted the pāʻū, or long skirt, for horseback riding. 🐎🌺

Today, pāʻū riders honor the Hawaiian islands by wearing the colors and flowers that represent them, carrying forward a tradition of culture, heritage and aloha.

Experience this beautiful tradition at the 78th Annual Floral Parade on Saturday, September 26. ✨
