During the Supreme Council’s 225th Anniversary Celebrations of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, the Valley of Kahului on Maui—our sister Valley in the Hawaiian Islands—was proudly featured for its continued dedication to the values of Brotherhood, Service, and Enlightenment that define the Rite.

The recognition highlighted the Valley’s active role within the Orient of Hawaii and Guam and its meaningful contributions to sustaining Scottish Rite Light across the Pacific Basin. As part of this historic global observance, the Kahului brethren stood in representation of the strength and vitality of island Valleys, underscoring how even geographically distant jurisdictions remain deeply connected to the shared legacy and forward vision of the Supreme Council, 33°, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.

The Scottish Rite Valley of Honolulu recently completed the cleaning of the historic stained-glass Blazing Star that adorns the ceiling of its Grand Cathedral Room. As part of the project, the border lighting surrounding the magnificent feature was also updated to display red, white, and blue, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

For generations, the Blazing Star has served as a symbol of light, wisdom, and the enduring principles of Freemasonry. The recent enhancements not only preserve this treasured landmark but also celebrate the rich history and ideals that have helped shape our nation.

While the Honolulu Scottish Rite will forever honor its historic roots dating back to the days of the Kingdom of Hawaii, it has remained a steadfast cornerstone of fellowship, community, and moral camaraderie among Hawaii’s men through many forms of governance and throughout periods of great change. Today, as it has for more than a century, the Valley continues its mission of bringing good men together in the pursuit of personal growth, friendship, and service to others.

The newly illuminated Blazing Star stands as a fitting tribute to both our nation's heritage and the enduring legacy of Scottish Rite Freemasonry.
