The Homer Pool Needs Us — Together We Can Keep It Open
Over the past several months, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District has been working alongside the Kachemak Swim Club, the City of Homer, South Peninsula Hospital, and dedicated community partners to develop a shared solution that will keep the Homer Pool operating while a long-term plan is finalized.
The Homer Pool is far more than just a place to swim. It is a vital community resource that serves children and families, school programs, swim teams, lap swimmers, open swim participants, and individuals who rely on the pool for water safety education, fitness, recreation, and rehabilitation.
Today, our community has a unique opportunity to help bridge the gap and keep the pool open through the coming school year.
One of the driving forces behind this effort is Homer Pool Lifesavers, a group of community members who are passionate about preserving the Kate Kuhns Aquatic Center for everyone. Their mission is simple: bring our community together to ensure this essential facility remains open while long-term solutions continue to move forward.
Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to reaching our goal. Your support will help ensure that our children can continue to learn lifesaving skills, our athletes can train, our schools can provide aquatic education, and our community can continue to enjoy the many physical, social, and health benefits the pool provides.
If you're able, please consider making a donation today. Equally important, help us spread the word by sharing the Homer Pool Lifesavers fundraiser with your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Together, our voices and our generosity can make a lasting difference.
Together, we can keep the Homer Pool open for this year, and for generations to come.
