Dear Kachemak Swim Club Families,

We wanted to share the following news article regarding the ongoing discussions surrounding the future of several Kenai Peninsula pools, including the Kate Kuhns Aquatic Center in Homer:

Drowning in Uncertainty: Communities Await Fate of Peninsula Pools

As highlighted in the article, proposals submitted by communities across the peninsula are currently under review by the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. The future operation of our local pool remains uncertain while these discussions continue.

The Kachemak Swim Club Board of Directors has been working diligently with the City of Homer, local elected officials, and community partners to develop a sustainable solution that will keep the pool open for both our swimmers and the greater Homer community. We remain committed to advocating for aquatic programs, water safety education, and access to the facility.

We will continue to keep you informed as soon as additional information becomes available. Thank you for your patience, support, and advocacy during this challenging time.

What an amazing 2025–2026 season for Kachemak Swim Club! Last night’s End of Season Celebration Banquet & Awards was an absolute blast filled with laughter, memories, awards, trophies, pizza, Otter Pops, and of course the highly anticipated KacheCash auction!

We are so incredibly proud of all of our swimmers for their hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, and growth this season. Thank you to our amazing coaches, volunteers, officials, board members, sponsors, and families for making this season so special. KSC truly is a team effort, and we couldn’t do it without each and every one of you.

Looking for swim lessons this summer? Join us June 1st – June 30th for fun, skill-building lessons designed for swimmers ages 4–12 of all experience levels!

Alevin – Learn to Swim
Fry – Advanced Learn to Swim
Parr – Freestyle & Backstroke

It is spirt week here at the pool!

Today is the final day to turn in all cash, checks, and pledge donations for the Swim-A-Thon, let’s finish strong, KSC!

Deanna Johnson will be at the pool today from 3:00–5:30 PM to collect any remaining donations.

Once all donations have been entered and totals are finalized, families will receive an email with a link to select prizes. All prizes will be handed out at the End of the Season Celebration in May.
