Today we’re celebrating McKayla Ma, a Student Leadership Award recipient from High Point Central High School. 🎓👏

A resilient and courageous leader, McKayla has stepped into leadership roles across her school and district—serving as a club president, student-athlete captain, and founder of Guilford County Schools’ first Youth School Health Advisory Council. 💙⚽🏐

Her journey is a powerful reminder that growth comes from pushing through discomfort and choosing courage, even in the face of adversity.

This fall, McKayla will attend the Honors College and Nursing School at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she plans to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. 🩺✨

The High Point Home Furnishings Sample Sale is almost here, and we’ve rounded up answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

✨ Available items include:
Wall art, chandeliers, lamps, decorative accessories, sofas, pillows, chairs, tables, appliances, rugs, mattresses, and more.

💳 Payment:
This is a cashless sale. Credit and debit cards only.

🚚 Shopping for furniture?
Don’t forget a truck, trailer, or vehicle with plenty of cargo space.

Loading Assistance:
💪 Plan Ahead! Staff will not be available to load items into vehicles. Please bring help if you’re purchasing large furniture pieces and be prepared to transport your items home.

🥫 Give Back:
We’re collecting canned food donations for West End Ministries. Consider bringing peanut butter, soup, canned potatoes, or canned vegetables to help local families in need.

Dulce Gamez-Pineda’s story is one of resilience, strength, and hope. We’re proud to recognize her as a Student Leadership Award recipient from Middle College at GTCC – High Point. 🎓👏

Dulce began her journey with a goal of pursuing higher education early and earning her associate degree while still in high school. From the start, she embraced opportunity and worked toward her goals with determination. 💙

During her junior year, Dulce was diagnosed with cancer, facing a life-changing challenge that required strength, courage, and time away from school. Throughout it all, she remained connected to her community and supported by her family, educators, and care team. 💛

With incredible perseverance, Dulce continued moving forward and never let her circumstances define her future. This May, she will graduate with her associate degree and “ring the bell,” before continuing her education at UNC Greensboro as a first-generation college student. 🎓✨
