DONATION GUIDELINES- Meanwhile: just a handy guide while our SCL webpage is being updated/fixed up:

Hello Friends of the Healdsburg Library (FoHL) and dear supporters!

● Donations will be accepted by a FoHL volunteer inside the Library Lobby, every Friday of the month from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Please do not drop off donations at the Library at other times or dates, because these drop-offs will be discarded.

GUIDELINES:

● Due to storage and volunteer constraints, we can accept no more than 3 bags of donations at one time.

We want the following (in LIKE-NEW or good condition):

(Recently released titles of all categories, scholarly, and fine arts titles are especially appreciated.)

• Books (general paperback and hardcover); fiction published within the last 10 years – after 2015.

• DVDs/CDs

• Classic fiction (for example: Moby Dick, A Tale of Two Cities, Gone with the Wind; Publication date N/A)

• Health/Diet books – published within the last 3 years -- after 2022.

• Business/Computer Books – published after 2022.

We also ask for jigsaw puzzles with all the pieces and magazines in good condition with a publication date within the last 6 months.

We do not want (and will NOT accept):

• Items that are damaged, soiled, stained, torn, musty or smoky

• Books that are excessively underlined or highlighted. Inscription on the title page is O.K.

• Encyclopedias, dictionaries, spiral bound books or textbooks older than 5 years do not sell.

• Reader’s Digest Condensed Versions, Time/Life, Great Books

• VHS, cassettes, 8-track tapes and any non-commercially prepared CDs/DVDs

• Please recycle non-saleable paperback books in your home personal blue (Recology) bins. Most hard copy books can only be recycled if their covers have been removed.

Dear Book Sale Volunteers,

Thank you very much for helping us with our recent Friends of the Healdsburg Library Book Sale. We are happy to report that we brought in over $5700 during the sale from new and renewed memberships and the sale of our beautiful donated books, CDs, DVDs and puzzles. We could not do it without the support of our wonderful community and from kind and generous volunteers like you.

All of this revenue will go to support the programs and services provided by our delightful Healdsburg Library.

Thank you very much for your support!

Sincerely,

Theresa Cabral,

FoHL book sale chairperson
