This CNA Week, we’re recognizing the incredible caregivers who make a difference every day here at Hastings Senior Health & Living!

Evan, affectionately known as “Evan from Heaven,” has been a CNA for over 30 years and shows compassion far beyond his shift—often staying to play music and sing for residents who need extra comfort.

Tim is a dedicated mentor who even volunteers his time on days off to lead activities like Men’s Group—building meaningful relationships and purpose for residents.

Jessie-Rose leads with compassion and care, always looking out for her coworkers. From thoughtful notes to favorite snacks, she makes sure others feel valued and supported.

Thank you for the meaningful difference you make in the lives of residents and those around you!

As we wrap up CNA Week, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible CNAs who make a difference in the lives of our residents every single day.

To celebrate these compassionate caregivers, we enjoyed a festive Taco Bar lunch and appreciation gift giveaways. While the food and gifts were fun, they are only a small token of our appreciation for the dedication, kindness, patience, and heart our CNAs bring to their work.

Thank you to each of our CNAs for the countless ways you serve, support, and enrich the lives of both residents and coworkers. We are grateful for all that you do and proud to celebrate you!

Today, we’re proud to highlight a few of our exceptional CNAs! 🌟

Brittney shows kindness and compassion, caring for our residents every day. One resident shared that Brittney makes getting ready in the mornings fun, bringing smiles, laughter and positivity to start the day.

Kelly lives the Cassia mission every day through the compassion she shows to residents, families and fellow staff. She takes the time to get to know everyone she meets and even volunteers at special events, from handing out roses on Valentine's Day to joining residents on boat outings.

Edna has only been with us for a year, but she has made a wonderful impact through the compassion and integrity she brings to her work each day. Edna has been recognized with both the Compassion Pin and the Integrity Pin, reflecting the exceptional care and dedication she shows to our residents and team.

Thank you, Brittney, Kelly and Edna, for going above and beyond!

In honor of National Day of Caring, we were blessed to have the help of a wonderful group of 8th graders who spent time beautifying our flower gardens by pulling weeds and caring for our outdoor spaces.
Residents enjoyed watching the students at work, visiting with them, and sharing stories. Many reminisced about their own younger days, remembering when kneeling in the garden came a little easier! Their hard work, kindness, and willingness to serve brought smiles to many faces and made a meaningful difference in our community. Thank you to these amazing students for helping make our campus even more beautiful!

Today, we were honored to welcome Civil War living historians Marie McNamara and Heather Loeschke for a fascinating and educational presentation. Residents enjoyed learning about the important roles women played during the Civil War era, from volunteering in ladies’ aid societies and serving as nurses to working as laundresses, arsenal workers, and even spies.
Their presentation beautifully explored how women expressed patriotism, supported war efforts, and coped with loss during one of the most difficult times in American history. With numerous original and reproduction artifacts on display, residents truly felt as though a museum had come right to our community.
Thank you, Marie and Heather, for bringing history to life and sharing such a meaningful experience with us today.
