Gigi [JC: Glory Bound] may not have had a successful racing career. With just 3 starts and lifetime earnings of $648, racing simply wasn’t where she was meant to shine.

And that’s okay. That’s where we come in. ❤️

Our Thoroughbred aftercare program isn’t about what a horse accomplished on the track. It’s about meeting them where they are, figuring out what they enjoy and where they can succeed, and giving them the time and training they need to prepare for life after racing.

For Gigi, that next chapter is looking pretty exciting—she’s currently being trained as a three-day eventer! 🐎

Because sometimes a horse’s racing career is only a very small part of their story. Today, she made a return to the scene of her first race, Canterbury Park as an ambassador where she greeted fans as they came through the gate.


We can’t wait to see where Gigi’s next career takes her. ❤️

Zephyr's Jockey Club name is Long Awaited Guest.

How fitting.

It's been 11 years since he last raced here at Canterbury, and today he made a remarkable return—not as a racehorse, but as an ambassador for Racehorse Reimagined and the importance of racehorse aftercare.

His life today looks much different than it did during his racing career. He now spends his days on a beautiful, peaceful farm in Wisconsin, enjoying a slower pace of life and making the occasional appearance at WSCA pleasure shows.

Today was a full-circle moment. From the racetrack to a beloved partner in a new career, Zephyr is a reminder that every racehorse deserves the opportunity for a second chapter. We are grateful to share his story and show what thoughtful aftercare can make possible.

Some of the most important work our retired racehorses will ever do doesn't happen in a show ring or on a racetrack.

It happens one conversation, one gentle nuzzle, and one connection at a time.

Our Racehorse Reimagined Ambassador Program gives our retired equine athletes the opportunity to continue making a difference long after their racing careers have ended. They help educate the public about life after racing, showcase the incredible versatility and temperament of Standardbreds and Thoroughbreds, and give so many people—especially children—their very first opportunity to meet a horse up close.

Recently, we were reminded just how meaningful these interactions can be. A guest shared that her granddaughter still names her stuffed animals after Yankee [USTA: Headsup Yankee], the retired Standardbred she met while he was serving as an ambassador at one of our events last fall. A single meeting left a memory that continues to bring smiles months later.

Today, Parker (JC: Performance Bonus) is proudly carrying on that tradition as he greets guests at Canterbury Park. Calm, curious, and always happy to soak up the attention, Parker is proving that retired racehorses have so much to offer beyond the finish line.

Every handshake, every photo, every child who leaves with a newfound appreciation for horses helps build a brighter future for retired racehorses. These ambassadors aren't just representing Racehorse Reimagined—they're changing perceptions and creating lifelong memories.

To Yankee, Parker, and all of our incredible ambassador horses... thank you for continuing to inspire, educate, and remind us why life after racing is so special. ❤️🐴

Tonight is one of our favorite nights of the year!

We're excited to celebrate our Annual Night at the Races at Running Aces, surrounded by the incredible people who make Minnesota's harness racing community so special.

Racehorse Reimagined exists because of the partnerships we've built with owners, trainers, veterinarians, breeders, fans, and supporters who believe every racehorse deserves a bright future beyond the finish line. Your trust, encouragement, and commitment have made all the difference.

Since the inception of Racehorse Reimagined, we've helped nearly 50 Standardbreds transition from the racetrack into new careers and loving forever homes. Each horse has a story, and every successful transition is possible because of this amazing community.

Tonight, we'll be cheering from the stands, celebrating the thrill of racing, and reflecting on the lives we've changed together. Thank you to everyone who has supported our mission and to Running Aces for hosting this special evening year after year.

What an incredible day we have had!

There are a lot of spectacular horses in the Aisle of Breeds at the Minnesota Horse Expo 2026 this weekend. And one of them is a 14-year-old off-track Standardbred gelding named Pine Dream.

He joined us after a remarkable history—nearly 200 starts with lifetime earnings over $450,000, demonstrating the heart, grit, and willingness of this horse to show up again and again.

But what matters most now isn’t what he’s done…it is what he is doing.

Like showing a couple of little girls what This Old Horse can still do.

From winning races to winning admirers--this horse has the heart of a champion. We couldn't love him more.

Love is good.

Meet "PINE DREAM "— now just known as “Pine” around the barn. Pine is a 2012 trotter with over $458,000 in lifetime earnings. A true war horse in every sense of the word.

After his last race in September 2021, Pine retired due to a hock injury that ultimately prevented him from returning to competition. His owners chose a different path—one that prioritized a slower, more enjoyable life.

In 2023, Pine made his way to Racehorse Reimagined, where members of our rehab team led his recovery.

We gave him the time he needed to reset, both mentally and physically. From there, we built a structured rehab program focused on strength, balance, and long-term soundness—laying the foundation for his next chapter as he transitions into work under saddle.

You can meet Pine this weekend as we join our friends at Minnesota Harness Racing, Inc. at the Minnesota Horse Expo! He’ll be there as an ambassador for Racehorse Reimagined, Minnesota Harness Racing, and our entire racing community.

This is what second careers are all about. ❤❤❤
