Each year, Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation grant recipients are able to nominate one of their horses for a chance to be named the PNHS Foundation’s Therapy Horse of the Year, sponsored by Susan Harmon.
This year, that honor went to One-Eyed W***y of Pennsylvania Warhorse!
One-Eyed W***y was rescued from an auction with an untreated eye injury. Once at Pennsylvania Warhorse, after evaluating his eye injury, it was determined it would be best if the eye was removed.
While recovering and still bandaged from surgery in 2024, W***y started working as a therapy horse. W***y works with veterans, first responders with PTSD and children with autism, ADHD and other developmental issues.
