What a weekend! 🔥

A huge thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday to help set up the stages and to all of the shooters, volunteers, and staff who joined us for Sunday's June 2-Gun Match. The hard work put in during setup and the match itself made for a smooth and exciting day of competition.

Whether you were setting steel, running a timer, resetting targets, or competing on the stages, your support is what keeps these matches growing.

Harrisburg Hunters & Anglers hosted our first Woods Walk match of the 2026 season with 36 shooters taking on 10 targets through the woods—5 shots per target and plenty of skill (and bragging rights) on the line.

Top shots of the day:
🎯 Rimfire: Tim Reardon – 47 hits
🎯 Centerfire (Iron Sights): Joe Solimando – 45 hits
🎯 Centerfire (Red Dot): John Mattu – 44 hits

A big thank you to the clubs helping make this series happen throughout the season—Lebanon Valley Sportsmen’s Association, Robesonia Fish & Game, and Roedersville Game & Fish Protective Association. We’re fortunate to have a great group of clubs keeping Woods Walk alive and well across the region.

Whether you’re a seasoned shooter or just looking to try something new, Woods Walk is open to the public—come out once or make a season of it.

On April 26th, 2025, the Harris Ferry Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) rededicated the family gravesite and honored the patriotic service of Lower Paxton resident John Buck (1753-1822). On land once owned and farmed by John Buck and his family, the gravesite is currently found on the property maintained by the Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers Association.

John Buck enlisted in the Continental Army, 2nd Pennsylvania Battalion in 1776. The unit marched through New York to assault Quebec on and fought at Ticonderoga. In 1778, John Buck contributed grain and forage from his farm to the Continental Army. He served with the Lancaster County Militia in 1778 and 1779. He continued his military service with other company regiments in 1780 and 1782.

The descendants of John Buck gathered from across the country for the rededication. In addition to 2 bronze markers and flags for his grave, the Harris Ferry SAR has a cast sign prepared for installation near the cemetery site. Visitors may park and visit the site of John Buck, Revolutionary War Soldier and Patriot, at Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers, 6611 Hunters Run Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.

Harris Ferry Chapter SAR President Jacob Lemon, VP Daniel Lute, and Secretary Gary Coburn officiated the re-dedication of the family site and John Buck's grave. Included in the presentation
were awards for recognition of Eagle Scout Jaden Morgans for cleaning and installing the fence around the cemetery area, and President Jerry Dougherty of Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers for
past and future maintenance of the site.

The Force was strong at HHA this past weekend ⭐️

Over 100 shooters came out to the range—an incredible turnout and an even better day of shooting. Huge thanks to everyone who participated, helped, and kept things running smoothly.

Special shoutout to our sponsors Horizon Sporting Arms and Ten13 Renovations for supporting the match and our growing U.S. Practical Shooting Assn. (USPSA) program.

We can’t wait to do it all again next month 👀

Longer days, better weather, and the range is in full swing. Whether you’ve been shooting for years or just want to come out and try something new, this is your sign to get off the couch and onto the range.

Matches, leagues, woods walks, and a good meal mixed in—no pressure, just a good time with even better people.

Bring a friend, stay awhile 🤝
