Behind every mission, there’s a story. For Lee Barber, the story starts with his mom. Her faith, love, and devotion shaped not only his life but the work he does with Bricks for Good.

This personal piece reflects on the lessons she taught him and why creating moments that matter is at the heart of our mission. ❤️

Read Lee's story below and discover why small acts of love can have a big impact.

We all know that one day we’ll lose someone we love. Most of us aren’t ready, and that’s okay. Because how can someone ever be ready for something like that?

What a wonderful day at Hoffman Ford in Harrisburg! Our 3rd Annual Santa’s Visit was filled with joy, laughter, and a little North Pole magic brought to life by Santa himself.

This year we welcomed more children than ever before. Each child enjoyed a special visit with Santa and went home with a free LEGO gift personalized just for them.

This event is powered by love and generosity. From receiving referrals and setting up the space to wrapping gifts and spreading smiles, our volunteers, donors, and partners showed up with open hands and full hearts. Seeing the excitement on every child’s face reminds us why we do this and why we’re committed to continuing this upward trend year after year.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring the spirit of the season to life!

Bricks for Good is proud to recognize Isaiah Houssou as the first recipient of the Elyse Martell Community Honor Award which celebrates students whose character, creativity, leadership, and mission alignment truly stand out.

As a 2023 Regeneron ISEF Finalist, multi-year CASEF champion, robotics club president, scholar, pianist, and now a first-year Computer Science student at MIT, Isaiah represents the passion, perseverance, and curiosity that inspire our work at Bricks for Good.

We had a wonderful time at the Fall Fest with Logos Academy in Harrisburg on Saturday! We joined the community for a day full of family fun, food, games, and fall celebration.

Our team at Bricks For Good brought the joy of LEGO building to life with hands-on LEGO Education sets! The young minds in attendance got their gears turning (literally!) as they explored STEM concepts through creative play. We built things like farm tractors, windmills, and cranes!

Many thanks to Logos Academy for inviting us to be part of such a vibrant event!

😥 It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Elyse Martell (Maria Elisa), beloved mother of Bricks for Good’s founder, Lee Barber.

Even as a disabled single mother living on a limited income, Elyse always made sure her two sons had plenty of LEGO sets under the tree each Christmas. Her selflessness, lifelong faith in Jesus, and belief in the power of play helped inspire the founding of Bricks for Good. Her two sons were the pride and joy of her life.

She taught her children the importance of values like love, discipline, and service to others, which helped shape their lives and the foundation of this organization.

To honor her legacy, we are proud to announce that our Bricks for Good Scholarship Fund will now bear her name. This fund supports students pursuing college degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)—fields that encourage building, problem-solving, and innovation.

Her legacy lives on in every child we serve, in every LEGO set we give, and now, in every student we support for many years to come.

Thank you for being part of the community that continues to build joy, just as she did.

In years past, we’ve celebrated Bricks for Good’s birthday with roller skates and ice cream. But this year, we tried something new. And wow—what a day it was! The Brick Party at Decades was a celebration we won’t forget.

From creative LEGO builds to LEGO-themed drinks, a custom Decades replica made entirely out of LEGO bricks, and the debut of our new mascot: HAPPY! He's here to spread smiles wherever he goes.

The day was filled with joy, imagination, and community.

As we mark two years of Bricks for Good, we’re proud of the impact we’ve made together. We may be small, but with your support, we’re building something powerful.

A heartfelt thank you to Decades and everyone who donated LEGO sets... you’re not just giving toys, you’re helping us build joy, creativity, and brighter futures for those who need it most.

Here’s to two years and to everything we’ll build next!

❤️💛💙
