KEDA is looking for a detail-oriented, organized individual to join our team while our Administrative Assistant is on maternity leave!

This is a great opportunity for someone with administrative and bookkeeping experience who enjoys a variety of responsibilities and wants to support local economic development efforts.

Location: Hancock, MI
Duration: Approximately 3 months (end of October/beginning of November-January/February)
Pay: $19.54/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with some flexibility in hours for the right candidate

The position includes bookkeeping, administrative support, meeting coordination, and assistance with KEDA's programs and projects.

ANNOUNCEMENT (Public Works Garage Grand Opening)

The Village of Laurium is extremely excited to announce that it will be holding the Grand Opening for the new Laurium Public Works Garage on October 12, 2026 between 3:00PM-6:00PM. The ribbon cutting will take place at 3:00PM with free food, beverages, and desserts being served immediately following the ribbon cutting. The Village will be allowing walkthroughs for all that attend. Additionally, we will have a fun opportunity for the kids to take pictures inside some of the heavy equipment.

To think where we were on the morning of February 5, 2025 to where we are now is difficult to put into words. The time and energy that has been poured into this building by our staff, council, and community members is truly remarkable. Without the community’s strength, Laurium and the Copper Country, we would not have been able to accomplish all that we have accomplished post fire. Thank you to all of our community partners throughout this rebuilding process, we appreciate everyone that was there for our staff and community.
