1. Who is the main character in the lesson, and what's so special about him?
2. What is the lifestyle of the people mentioned in vs 11& 12? Why is that important? How do we go from commitment to compromise?
3. How is God's omnipotent power shown in vs. 7&8
4. How does Amos respond to Amaziah regarding the lie he told to King Jeroboam
5. Are you willing to be as Amos and obey God rather than man?

Subject: Jonathan and David Resolute Friends
Scriptures:
1 Samuel 18: 1-4, 1 Samuel 20: 16-18, 32-34, 42
2 Samuel 1: 26- 27, 2 Samuel 21:7

1. How do you know when you have been connected with a true friend?
2. How deep is the love between Jonathan and David? Look at the words used in the lesson.
3. What is Saul's actual purpose for keeping David in the Kingdom?
4. What does the giving away of Jonathan's garment to David represent?
5. Would you be willing to give up your position to a friend, even though you have been trained from birth for said position?
6. In spite of Saul wanting to kill David, how does David show respect for Saul, and how does Jonathan show his love and respect for them both?
7. How important is it to stand for what is right, even when you have to make a decision between family and friends?
8. How did Jonathan make sure his family would be taken care of after his death? Have you put your house in order for your demise?
9. Vs. 27 : How are the mighty fallen? Explain: how did David react to the death of Saul; and then Jonathan? How do you handle grief with an enemy? Death of a friend?
10. Samuel 2:17, Can friendship exist without accountability?
11. How do you honor God in your friendship?
12. Who is Mephiboseth, and what is important for us to know?

Subject: Hannah, the Faithful Supplicant
Scripture:
1 Samuel 1: 9-20, 25b
1. Please read the whole chapter. Vs. 9: Opens with a woman named Hannah. The Scripture says she rose up why is this important? Who is Hannah? And why is she the main character in this lesson?
2. Hannah has a heavy heart, and as she prays; she negotiates with God. Have you ever prayed a prayer of negotiation; and did you keep your end of the bargain?
3. Vs. 12 speaks of a man named Eli? Who is he?
4. Have you ever been misjudged by anyone, especially a person of authority? How did you respond to the wrong assumption?
5. Define Belial. Why did Eli use that name to Hannah?
6. What took place in vs. 17 & 18 to give Hannah a change of heart?
7. How important is it to worship God first? What was Hannah's reward?
8. Can you worship God before your prayer has been answered?
9. As you read this lesson, can you think of others in the Bible in the same situation as Hannah? How did they respond to God's timing and the Blessings?
10. How does God use Samuel in this chapter regarding Eli and his people Israel?
