🚰 Earlier this year, VentureWell-supported team Drinkwell’s co-founder and CEO Minhaj Chowdhury was named Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship 2026 Social Entrepreneur of the Year.

🧺 E-Team, Apsire Climatetech, and NSF I-Corps™ alum Ultropia was awarded a $1M+ Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

⚕️ E-Team and Aspire Medtech alum CurveAssure Inc.’s CurveCapture™ is officially FDA-listed.

🏆 Aspire Medtech and NSF I-Corps™ alum Zoe Watson and Ocean Enterprise Accelerator innovator Nili Persits were awarded top prizes at the 2026 TiE Boston Women Finals.

⚡️ NSF I-Corps™ Alum & ACCEL program alumni Andros Innovations were one of three companies selected from 150+ startups to receive investment from Decarbon8.

🏅 E-Team alum and co-founder & CEO of CRIO Systems Michael Sansone was selected as one of nine winners of the 2026 Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant Graduate Scholars Program research competition.

What happens when we put curiosity before certainty?

That was one of the questions Sophia Bush left members of the VentureWell team thinking about after her keynote at Content Marketing World in Denver earlier this week: how can we give possibilities the tangible resources they need to become real?

We were also delighted by the unexpected opportunity to meet Sophia in person, along with Nia Batts, COO of Union Heritage. We enjoyed hearing more about their work investing in women’s health.

It made an already inspiring week even more memorable.

🌎 How do we move promising sustainability research toward real-world use?

During Climate Week NYC, we joined the Funders Aligned for Sustainability Transformations (FAST) Forum to explore how greater alignment across philanthropic, public, and private sectors can help move solutions forward.

Through roundtable discussions, participants shared their priorities for turning research into innovation, coordinating funding and resources, and building partnerships that can help promising solutions scale.

This week at Oceans Conference, we joined innovators, researchers, industry leaders, and partners from across the bluetech sector to connect and explore the solutions shaping the future of our oceans.

Among the week’s highlights, VentureWell Director of National Venture Programs Tricia Compas-Markman facilitated a conversation on dual-use technologies and strategic partnerships in the blue economy. The panel featured VentureWell Ocean Enterprise Accelerator innovator and Blue Latitudes LLC co-founder Amber Sparks.

Climate Week NYC is here, and we’re excited to spend it with collaborators working to close climatetech funding gaps.

This week, we're co-hosting a workshop with Investable Oceans to ideate and catalyze high-potential solutions, and joining FAST Forum's network of funders, investors, and sustainability ecosystem leaders to discuss how to close funding gaps and strengthen coordination across philanthropic, private, and public capital to scale sustainability solutions.

Both build directly on what we heard at our June roundtable in Boston, and both are focused on taking action to prioritize solutions. More soon! 🌱

💪 Venture Prize winner Axio Recovery designed a wearable device that uses an athlete’s muscle activity and movement data to measure stress on the elbow during injury recovery.

💉 Design Excellence Prize winner NeoFusion developed a portable, affordable syringe pump built for low-resource settings that delivers precise doses of medications, fluids, and nutrients to newborns.

🩺 Rising Star Prize winner ClubFoot Instru-Sole designed a thin, sensor-equipped insole that helps patients monitor the fit and effectiveness of braces used to treat babies with clubfoot.
