Hello everyone! I got word that a dancer's dance stick seems to be missing, and it might have been inadvertently picked up by someone at The 6th Annual Odenong Powwow. If anyone has seen it or picked it up, please message us so we can return it to its rightful owner.

For those of you who may not know, a dancer's regalia is often extremely important to them. They may spend decades putting a dance outfit together, from making items to trading for them, having them gifted to them, or any number of other ways to obtain pieces. Their regalia represent their commitment to culture and traditions, a commitment to self-expression, a commitment to honoring their families and loved ones, and so much more.

So if you happened to see a decorated dance stick with feathers on it, please let us know. Thank you

Good morning, everyone!!! We are still looking for a few volunteers to help with end-of-day stuff today at The 6th Annual Odenong Powwow. Mostly, it will be to help vendors get their things out of the building and into their vehicles, and then some light clean-up of the gym (put things in trash cans, stack chairs, move tables, etc.). If you are available to help, please contact Kara Kahgee Bear when you get to the powwow.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing everyone today!!!

Meet our Head Man dancer, Justin Maddox!!!

Bio: Hello everyone. My name is Justin Maddox. I am a proud member of the Eastern Pequot tribe. I have been dancing for as long as I can remember. Since I was a kid, I was taught by a handful of uncles and elders. What I love most about dancing is the medicine it gives to our relatives. I dance for the ones who can’t physically and mentally. I dance for the ancestors who fought for us to be here and live the way we do today. I am honored to be this year’s Odenong Powwow Head Man dancer.
