May 30th from 12 noon to 3 pm: Basic Bike Maintenance with Andy Morris-Friedman

Come and learn how to do simple maintenance on your own bike. With a little TLC, your bike can feel like a whole new ride. We will wash, inspect, and lubricate your bike so you can ride into summer in style! Why pay the bike shop when you can DIY? If you like getting your hands dirty, you'll love this program.

Program is intended for patrons 10 years and older, but younger children are welcome to "help" their adults.

Please note: This is not a repair workshop. Andy is not a bike mechanic, and we will not be doing repairs - only yearly maintenance.

Here's what you need to bring: (the library may have some of these on hand, not the bike, though!)

A working bike
A bucket (we may have some extras, if needed)
Several rags
A used tooth brush
Rubber gloves (we have nitrile, non-latex gloves on hand)

If the weather is uncooperative and rain falls, the rain date will be the following Saturday, June 6th.

To sign up and receive a reminder email, go to our events calendar at hadleypubliclibrary.org. Drop-ins welcome if there is room.
