There were only a few of us but we got it done. Bags are stuffed and ready for delivery tomorrow evening. Just in time for Veteran’s Day. Thank you to a couple of my Besties For Life, Autumn and Sam for always showing up and helping with whatever needs to be done. Thank you Jamie and Tori with the Guthrie VFW Sooner Post 4578 & Auxiliary for showing up and stuffing those bags and writing those Thank You Cards. Also, a thank you to my youngest, Lily, who was Miss DeeDees’s Princess and she is the reason why we (my family) do this. To carry on the tradition she started in 2018. I’ve changed it up a little each year to suit the needs for the moment. This year was a great year.
A very big heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who had a hand in donations, sharing posts and helping anyway that you could. We seriously could not get this done without any of you! 💜Jeny

URGENT:
We are coming up to the last days before we start filling stockings/bags for the veterans at the OKC Veteran’s hospital.
Here are a few things that we NEED in order to help make this happen:
Thank You cards (filled out and signed)
Gift bags (200 approx)
Game books (sudoku, crossword etc)
Single serve, non perishable snacks (200 approx)

I’ll post the Amazon link again for easier donating but at this point anything will work. I would like to thank you all who has donated or shared my posts! We can never get this done as much as we have without all of you!!! 💜Jeny

Good morning! We are coming up to the home stretch of taking donations. I have updated my Amazon wishlist. High on the list of needs are the tote bags and puzzle books.
I would like to take a moment and thanks a couple of different people who have donated a ton of stuff.
First off, Sherri B from the Garden Hilton Inn in Edmond. She donated a case of shampoo and conditioner. That donation alone took care of that need.
Also, one of the Auxillary members from Auxillary VFW Post 5478, came about a HUGE donation of socks. That wiped out that need as well. I will have to get the information and give credit later.
I am so excited to get the bags assembled this year and delivered 💜Jeny

From the sweetest first “customers” of the day dropping off supplies to these 3 high schoolers who helped unload and load up supplies and all the wonderful humans in between who dropped donations off. We seriously can’t do any of this without all of you! So THANK YOU VERY MUCH. It was a slow but steady supply drive and I will have to update the Amazon wishlist because I believe we may be at capacity on some items.
Thank you to a very generous donation of socks…. We are all covered there. Once I find out the info on them, I will give a proper thank you.
A special thank you to Sherri and the Edmond Hilton Garden Inn for the donation of a case of shampoo and a case of conditioner. So we are covered on that front as well!
Thank you to AUX VFW Post 4578 for partnering with my family and I this year to make it a success. Hopefully the partnership can continue and keep growing!

Ya’ll!!!!! I can not begin to express how it feels to come home to packages waiting on me. Today’s haul was a pretty hefty box! Getting these packages keeps me going and in the spirit to do this, Because let’s face it, 2023 we skipped (personal reasons) and last year was a fizzle, but this year looks to be strong again!!!
Just a reminder there will be a supply drive 10/11/25 Rain or shine! 💜Jeny

It’s time…. It’s past time! July slipped away from me. Now taking donations for this years stockings. They will be delivered for Veteran’s day. Contact me if you have anything you’d like to donate (also check the list on Amazon!)

Are there any Guthrie businesses willing to allow us to put supply drop boxes in their location? It will be checked weekly and the box will be medium size. Just comment or send me a message.

A little update on the happenings of this year’s donations. I wanted so bad to be able to donate for Veteran’s Day to the VA in OKC. Although I got some donations I didn’t receive a lot. Time got away from me and I never pushed for donations like I did the previous years of my family taking this venture over.
My plan of doing Veteran’s Day instead of Christmas didn’t go like I wanted. Changing things around didn’t seem to click with very many people. How Miss DeeDee did this for several years mostly on her own? What an amazing woman she was and I feel like I’ve failed her but I know she understands “hiccups” in one’s life.

I am now part of VFW Auxillary in Guthrie and a member of the Aux who works at Stephenson’s Cancer Center mentioned a blanket drive for patients. I have decided to donate the blankets that I have received last year and this year. I know Miss DeeDee would approve. She knew first hand how it was to be in that Center.
So just know that the donations that have been sent, are going to something good.

Now back to being part of the Auxillary. We are in talks of continuing the stockings like normal with the help of the Aux. starting in July of 2025. Stay tuned and don’t lose hope in me getting the stockings going just like DeeDee did.
